I tend to always rise to the occasion but these turkey calls are trying to get the best of me. 🤣 Been talked into turkey hunting which means I’ll be annoying everyone who knows me for the next month while I practice these calls. Sorry not sorry.

Just got a panicked call about a rogue possum in a lady's garage. He was hiding by her steps by the water heater, not aggressive. I assured her he/she was no threat. It was trying to live, or it wouldn't be there. I explained that its currently 14 degrees and that is the reason. She is leaving the door cracked for it now and gave it a blanket before going to work. Likely will either move in or be gone before she returns. Let em be if you find them please. If they aren't hurting anything why not?

The only places to go to escape the cold are southern California / Arizona or Florida. 🏝️ The rest of the Lower 48 is in the ice box. 🧊 Unless you have a real fireplace or pellet / wood stove (increasingly rare in new homes), the reason that you're not freezing to death tonight is because power plants are burning natural gas and coal. Even in Texas, gas and coal are currently doing the legwork to keep the heat and lights on. Think twice before demonizing fossil fuels.

He is talking to my husband and thanking him for taking boys that didn’t know how to do anything but bale hay and cut wheat then teach them how to make a living in the oil field. If you know, you know. It’s a bond and some of you will never understand it

I was at the doctors office today talking with Dr. Reedy, and he asked what I was doing for Christmas. I said, “Not much… just having some family over. And you?” He said, “I’m cooking a tri-tip.” I said, “Wait… no turkey? No ham?” And that’s when it hit me! Why are we all eating the same thing every Christmas? People act like Christmas dinner has to be some kind of Pilgrim cosplay meal. Like, “It’s Christmas, so obviously we must eat a bird the size of a toddler or a ham that looks like it was varnished.” Why? Who decided Jesus wants turkey? He was born in a barn, not a Cracker Barrel. Why can’t Christmas dinner be something else? Why not Christmas spaghetti? A big pot of sauce simmering all day. Garlic bread on the side. Everybody full and happy instead of sweating over a dry turkey they have to politely lie about. Spaghetti actually makes more sense… It feeds everyone. Nobody’s mad. And the leftovers are better. Spaghetti feels right. It’s casual. It’s comforting. It says, “Sit down, relax. We’re not performing for anyone.” That’s what Christmas is supposed to be. So start your own tradition. Merry Spaghettimas!!! And if anyone complains, just tell them: Jesus turned water into wine. I turned Christmas into spaghetti. Now be quiet and enjoy Spaghettimas.

@JB1401777 For certain...2 years of CWD targeted culling, EHD, road kills, and hunter density have all contributed to numbers well below what's seemed "normal" in the 20 years prior. No scientific data just anecdotal evidence.
