I like the tree of life metaphor because it relates to this topic of seed. God, being the root, produced the lump of the tree. God instructed the tree how to grow its trunk which was symbolically 2 great Nations. When God gave further instruction on how to continue growing as a tree, he gave it through Issac, the promise of the seed of Abraham (remember the root is all about the seed). Issacs decendents carried the "seed" bringing forth many shoots and branches. Minor prophets, Kings and kingdoms. Off of one of those branches and shoots that held the "promise of the seed" sprang forth the fruit... The root of the tree of life's, first fruit is Jesus Christ.
