@stevehill1mil For me its 6 months bills and living costs, which sits at £12k, possibly slightly overkill, but keeps my head clear.

@baileyinvests The older you get, the more you realise the value of time over materialistic items and vanity stuff.
It's when you get to your 15th mistake, it's time to have a word with yourself. 😂
English

@Kris55P Appreciate your words mate! I do think it was for the best as it changed my mindset completely.

This was my biggest financial mistake👇
Age 18. First full time job as an account manager. 23k salary. Thought I’d made it.
£5000 Deposit - £400pm Payment💰
Was it fun at the time? Absolutely🤣
It taught me a valuable lesson that financing cars do cripple you at such a young age. I now buy my cars outright.
Not quite as flash as this though…

@v96809076 I've added a small trial of FLRK, it's more specific semiconductor in Korea, it's got some good progress
English

@DividendDrip Depends on money, time in your life etc.
I was lucky, bought my first house at 20yrs old, 26yrs ago for £35k, with £2k borrowed from parents.
Got a lucky start I guess.
English

@2147mill This is my set up now, have just added FLKR ready, for some Korea semi diverse factors. Working ok for me currently

I've been doing a lot of thinking about my portfolio lately.
I'm spread across too many positions and I think it's costing me conviction.
My thesis is simple: semiconductors/ quantum computing are the infrastructure layer of the next industrial revolution.
Every industry on the planet - healthcare, defence, energy, farming, finance, manufacturing - runs on chips.
That's not slowing down.
So I'm seriously considering restructuring around 4 core ETFS:
VWRP - the anchor
SMGB - semiconductor supercycle
conviction
JEQP - monthly income engine to buy more shares with in my maxed SS ISA
QNTM - quantum computing, the next
layer
Then alongside my boost pie of smaller cap names.
Pie: trading212.com/pies/ltzntt0aH…
Less positions. More conviction. Let the thesis do the work.
Thinking out loud here - is this the right move? Would welcome thoughts.

@2147mill I closed my S&P on Sunday, plus a few small funds, moved to 60% all world, plus few specialist etf, then just 10% risky picks, find I'm looking at my account less, which I'm happy with, just letting it run
English

I’m still thinking of doing this and thinning the portfolio.
Shall update tomorrow.

I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend thinking it over and I'll let you all know what I do - for those who copy the pie. I'm leaning towards getting rid of SP500 and increasing All World position and a few % in some other funds. Less doubling up.
English

@stevehill1mil @danielkempe Just done a random check on the small tester pie I have against the s&P 500, quite surprising

English

@danielkempe A huge amount I'm not gonna lie lol. My plan is to ditch S&P and go into All-World as the safety and QQQ as the high growth tech stocks, I will do this Monday morning
English

@stevehill1mil I own 6/7 in that list, works well for me, I'm happy with my stocks

@danielkempe Interesting, keen to see what information that produces, as there's a lot of good and bad noise around daily
English

@danielkempe Very much the same, always interested to see what others do, but rather test first, some I'm plus 26%, some I'm minus 20%,

English

@danielkempe I always pride myself on not being the sheep following the herd!
But it's hard to ignore the noise sometimes,
English

@danielkempe Not a huge amount I hope, annual leave this week.
40min treadmill just done, and while doing so put £150 in my Defence ETF, with one eye on $PLTR 😁
