Hearing the minimum score needed for an internal medicine training interview has shot up from 15 last year to 22 this year. Essentially a 50% increase in the number of points required just to get an interview is criminal. Completely pathological and unrealistic expectations.

Too important to that we’re told we shouldn’t be allowed to strike. Too unimportant to be paid correctly. Great support today at King George hospital from public and residents alike. Drs don’t want to strike but inaction from the government has forced us here. @BMAResidents

@julian_donovan Medic here … wanted to do LP in SDEC but was told off by nurse incharge because I cant use SDEC bed as it will block assessment area/bay bed for 4 hrs . Next day as Float reg found the pt at same place after 12 hrs!!

Does anyone in UK EM perform LP on those admitting for ?meningitis. Seems this should be our thing to do NICE: Perform the lumbar puncture before starting antibiotics, unless it is not safe to do so or it will cause a clinically significant delay to starting antibiotics.
