@omarpassons @CAPolicyLab We initially looked into VI-SPDAT, but unfortunately didn't have these data available. Definitely important for future work + looking at longer-term housing outcomes!

@omarpassons @CAPolicyLab All great points, @omarpassons! Agree that there are still many, many unanswered Qs. We looked at a pd early in the program, so sample sizes for many subgroups were too small to say anything definitive ( statistically) but a very imp Q to look into as the program grows

@PhillipsEcon Totally! A lot of county variation here, but these fams were already connected to the child welf sys, so easier to ID folks who might qualify. But definitely shows that even if accessing 1 system, ppl might not be in all sys that can help.

@KristaRuffini Cool program. Your fact #3 is the one that really sticks out to me. Super hard to create a program that people want to engage with when they have an active child protection case and are sleeping doubled up/in a car/etc. Would be interested to know how they setup referrals.

Of course, these are relatively short-term outcomes, and there is still much more to learn about hosuing services and child wellbeing! Huge thx to all the county partners, CDSS, @CAPolicyLab, @CDN_USC for making this work possible! n/n

Great presentation on "Recent Changes to the Safety Net and Implications for Child Well-Being" by @KristaRuffini of @McCourtSchool, focusing on expanded #CTC & stimulus payments during the COVID pandemic and how it affects child outcomes, esp. infant health. #IRP24NAACFRC
