@iSpineDoc @GurleyGuy @olsonplanner I didn’t mean to imply that cutting doctor pay would magically solve healthcare costs. I do think though that there are issues with physician compensation in the US that @_Eric_Reinhart outlines much better here than I could myself:

The actual per hour compensation of attending physicians… When I think about the time many of you spend that is not “official”, I think the idea of lowering your compensation (for single payer for example) is a precarious step.

@drjphazelton @GurleyGuy @olsonplanner The “to whom” part of your question is a huge one to answer but broadly I think that many frontline health workers are tragically underpaid for what they do. Medics, nurses, technicians, etc.

And frankly I think if physician pay were cut to the level it is in most other wealthy countries, it should be paired with massive debt relief or free tuition
