Thank you once again @ZacGoldsmith for waking the sleeping UK Parliament. Labour continues to ignore Worldwide protests against atrocities accorded to Imran Khan. Even Pakistani community in Gorton & Denton by-elections have shown their dissent. Foreign Secretary must intervene.

With respect, Ambassador Michael Huckabee, is it historically and biblically accurate that Jews trace their ancestry to Abraham, who, according to Genesis 11:27–28, was born in Ur of the Chaldeans (commonly identified with modern-day Iraq)? The text further states that he and his family migrated to Canaan (referred to as Palestine prior to 1948) (Genesis 11:31). If contemporary political discourse sometimes characterizes modern migrants, particularly those of certain ethnic or racial backgrounds, as “invaders,” how should we understand Abraham’s migration from Mesopotamia to Canaan within that framework? Genesis 11:31 states: “Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai… and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan.” And, is it not acknowledged in Genesis 12:6 that there were already established populations in the region? Genesis 12:6 states: “At that time the Canaanites were in the land.” Is it historically accurate that the followers of Abraham, later identified as Israelites and Jews, originated in Mesopotamia and migrated to Canaan? Were there not already indigenous populations in Canaan (encompassing what is now Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine), including the Canaanites and later the Philistines? Does the biblical and historical record indicate episodes of tension or conflict between Abraham’s descendants and existing local populations? If the Israelites were originally migrants from Mesopotamia, on what basis can claims of greater historical entitlement be asserted over Palestinians whose ancestors also inhabited the region for centuries? If ancestral connection is invoked as a foundation for political legitimacy, should such a principle not apply equally to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike? The region must ultimately find a path toward peaceful coexistence among all faith communities. If peace is to be achieved, should it not align with international legal frameworks, including the 1947 UN resolution, which recognized the right of Israel to exist while also envisioning political rights for Arabs of Palestine? These questions are posed in the interest of historical clarification and peaceful resolution.

Food should never come with gunfire. Over 500 Palestinians have been killed and 4,000 injured under Israel’s militarized distribution scheme in Gaza. This is not a humanitarian response. More than 170 organizations, including @Amnesty, are calling for an end to this deadly system and a return to principled, UN-led humanitarian access.

A sister’s quiet resilience speaks louder than words. Aleema Khan sits outside the prison walls, where her brother—Imran Khan—has been unjustly held for nearly two years. In her silent vigil, she embodies the strength of a family and the unyielding hope for truth to prevail.
