MALEMA DROPS A BOMBSHELL — "AFTER ALL YOUR ATTACKS, HOW MANY JOBS DID YOU CREATE?" 🇿🇦 ✊🏾 South Africa's Julius Malema has silenced the xenophobia debate with one powerful question! You marched. You burnt shops. You beat innocent Africans in the streets. So tell us: where are the jobs? Zimbabweans, Nigerians, and Ethiopians did not steal your future. A broken government and corruption did! Malema said it loud and clear: "I don't want votes that make me hate fellow Africans!" Africa helped South Africa defeat apartheid. This is how you repay the continent? Violence never created a single job. Ever.

In an upcoming policy brief titled "The Sovereignty Paradox: Data Colonialism, Debt, and the Battle for Africa’s Digital Nervous System," Sitsofe Mensah, IMANI's Associate for Technology and Innovation Policy, takes a critical look at the health aid packages that both the United States and France are offering to Africa. He warns: "The twenty-first-century scramble for Africa is invisible. It is not fought with occupying armies. It does not claim territorial land grabs. Instead, it is waged through algorithms, digital public infrastructures, and bilateral health compacts." This unprecedented global rush for biological capital has exposed a deep tension in African statecraft. Leaders across the continent find themselves caught between a fierce desire for political sovereignty and the harsh realities of macroeconomic dependency. Why does Ghana oppose American health aid while welcoming French assistance? And what exactly is the French National Health Platform deal? Sitsofe asks these questions—more to follow.

🚨🇬🇭 BREAKING: GHANA JUST REJECTED A US HEALTH DEAL. The Americans demanded sensitive health data. Ghana said no. Not because they are ungrateful. Because they are not stupid. This is not just a deal. This is a line in the sand. Zimbabwe walked away. Kenya's court blocked their deal. Zambia is asking questions. Africa is learning that US aid is not a gift. It is a transaction. And the price is sovereignty. Ghana chose its people over American conditions. The US set a deadline. Ghana let it pass. The State Department is now searching for words. Ghana is searching for nothing. They already found their answer. The era of accepting any paper with a US seal is over. Africa is waking up. Ghana just hit the alarm. The rest of the continent should hear it. Loud and clear.

GoldBod, Better Brands (Zimbabwe) Commences Engagement on ASM Formalization in Ghana The Ghana Gold Board in collaboration with Better Brands has commenced engagements aimed at advancing the formalization of artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) in Ghana, with a strong focus on financing and structural support for miners. Central to the discussions is the proposed establishment of a dedicated financing center to support artisanal miners, particularly those engaged in hard rock mining by improving access to capital, equipment, and technical services. In addition to the financial support, machinery such as processing plants and other production machinery to optimize recovery. #GhanaGoldBod #ASMFormalization

In 2021, when Mr Kissi Agyebeng was being vetted for the OSP, he expressed doubts about the constitutionality of the powers of the Office. In his words “Article 88(3) is the mother problem” for the Office of Special Prosecutor.” This is how the media reported that entire interaction: “The MPs moved to discuss the law with him. The Office of Special Prosecutor Act, Act 959, meant that he prosecutes corruption and its related offence. But Article 88 of the 1992 constitution also vests all prosecutorial powers into the office of Attorney-General, and it is some of these powers that are outsourced to the OSP. This creates some burden on the Special Prosecutor to take some prosecutorial permission from the A-G. This is why there is some growing sentiments that Act 959 is 419 as far as fighting graft is concerned. Kissi Agyebeng conceded these legal difficulties and said he had observed some “mischief” in drafting the law. He said the law could have been “better thought through” and worried that, like many others, he can foresee that ‘friction may arise one day” if the Office of the Special Prosecutor does not see eye to eye and yet would have to seek the A-G’s authority to initiate criminal proceedings. “There is still some work to be done” on the law, he said but added that the law, despite its problem, is “food that is still edible.” He passed some buck to parliament and then used some revolutionary language of Rawlings. “We need to clean the house properly”, he said and asked for the amendment of Article 88 to lessen the “mandatory language” of the law that vests all criminal prosecutorial powers in the Attorney-General. “Article 88(3) is the mother problem” for the Office of Special Prosecutor.” Shalom See: myjoyonline.com/vetting-of-spe…

#NATO There are serious doubts over the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as a result of threats by US President Donald Trump to pull out of it. Other complications include the bickering over the US-Israeli aggression on Iran, the US threat to annex Greenland and Canada, the Russia – Ukraine war, and US support for far-right political parties in Europe. Can #NATO survive these upheavals?

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.

This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen. From the very beginning of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump estimated this would be a 4-6 week operation. Thanks to the unbelievable capabilities of our warriors, we have achieved and exceeded our core military objectives in 38 days. More on that tomorrow morning from @SecWar and Chairman Caine! The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace. Additionally, President Trump got the Strait of Hormuz reopened. Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully advance America’s interests and broker peace.
