My time at 247Sports and Husker247 comes to an end as abruptly as it started — with a phone call out of the blue.
The 14 years in between allowed me to live out a childhood dream of being a sportswriter. It took me to stadiums across the country, inside homes and schools of recruits, and allowed me to grow personally and professionally. It introduced me to many great people at 247Sports, many of whom I relied on to make my life easier — and they often did.
Additionally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t extend the deepest appreciation to the many, many people who allowed me to write about them, talk with them, quote them, source them, and more. That kind of trust is important in this endeavor, and I’m grateful that I earned it.
While I am no longer a part of it, I could not more strongly endorse Husker247 as the place to go for your analysis, commentary, conversation, and news as it relates to Nebraska athletics.
Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson are two terrific teammates, and working alongside them covering a lot of bad football provided me with a ton of memories to cherish. In a business full of self-promotion and half-done reporting, they’re professionals. They, too, made me a better person and media professional.
Lastly, I’d like to acknowledge that none of this happens without a fan base like Nebraska’s. For 14 years, I was able to write, appear as a radio guest, podcast, and too often tweet for a fan base that also made me better. Whether you enjoyed my work, spent years attempting to troll me, or landed somewhere in between, I appreciate it. These opportunities don’t exist without you.
Finally, there is no road map for what is next, and much is uncertain. But just like I could’ve never predicted the phone call in October 2011 asking me to come aboard a startup, I can’t predict what the future holds. I just know that if I’m lucky, I’ll get to continue writing, podcasting, and yelling on your radio airwaves about Nebraska football.

This was always one of Greg’s favorite road trips, and road booth.
And this is the reason why.
Thank you @GopherFootball. ❤️

How do you know you've built a soccer *community* and not just a club?
When at the final whistle the entire team IMMEDIATELY runs to the supporters to celebrate its first championship. 🏆
Bravo, @VermontGreenFC!
So cool.
