I think one reason is probably because units don't become almost useless after a month or two like new modern Gachas.
They remain useful for years.
Even someone like Arash, who is a 1 star unit released +10 years ago, is still used in current 90+ and 90++ farming teams.

Thinking about how FGO having the lowest rate of SSR, took them 9 years to finally implement Pity system and you cant carry over to next banner. Yet it's still widely praised by whoever enjoyed the game (myself included). I think it's fascinating and beautiful.
