@Kruiser17 Willis is not very good at math Our elderly are made up of mostly 'baby boomers', one of the biggest cohorts in NZ They mostly all vote and they DON'T like idiots. And they can be a vicious lot when they feel they're being ripped off. And many of them don't like Robbie Williams

So willis is looking at a package for petrol relief for working families & has ruled out helping beneficiaries. So the elderly are penalized again. They have increased rents, electricity, groceries etc like everyone else, while on a fixed benefit.

@rtaonui If the fuel excise tax was reduced it would help with the cost of living overall. Example trucks that deliver to the grocery stores, the general public. At the moment trucking firms have to recover their extra costs which is passed onto the consumer.

Lets get this right. Nicola Willis will not reduce the fuel excise tax to help NZders at the pump because rich households like hers and Chris Luxon don't need that kind of support.

If you’re feeling concerned about petrol prices, you’re not alone. We know it’s tough, and the last thing any household needs right now is more pressure on the budget. While these pressures are global, New Zealand is in a stronger position to handle the impact of conflict in the Middle East than we were two years ago, because of the steps we have taken to rebuild the economy. We will continue to manage the economy responsibly and support Kiwis through this unpredictable time, delivering the steady economic management needed to minimise the impact on households.

@petetweetsshit Have you got your head buried in the sand. A lot of towns have the services required but no bus service. You do realize free transport only applies to large cities. So everyone should move to a city. 🤦‍♂️

@ElizabethMouat Wow, A hole $25.74 & $33.46. After a lifetime grind paying taxes & still doesn't keep up with the cost of living. 😅 Then we look at the other end of the spectrum MPs pay rise and their retirement fund where they will end up double dipping. 🤦‍♂️

@RevisionistNow There isn't a bus service in every town you f..kn idiot. Regardless how much elderly eat, the cost of living is still the same while they are on a fixed income.

@Kruiser17 Elderly have gold card so can travel on public transport for free. Everyone is affected as costs rise, sounds like you’re the one that doesn’t understand. Elderly don’t eat much so which costs down. Harder to drop kids at daycare as an extra bus stop so workers need their cars.

@SerenaTNZ @NZNationalParty need to remember that when they point a finger at someone/something that they claim is not their fault, there are always 3 fingers pointing back at them . . . just saying.

@kapiti_coaster @SerenaTNZ But But porno jones has his hand on it. His record needle is stuck on 50 days supply. They need to get on the same page as jones says one thing then lucon & willis say something different. Will they update on fuel theft or bury that like other crimes they claim has reduced.

@SerenaTNZ This is going to unravel fast. What a mess. National have no idea what to do. They are totally lost. Anger will build when NZers realise they aren't being looked after, there is no safety net and it is every man for themselves.

@RevisionistNow Typical reply from a luxon rw supporter. Elderly people are struggling to live now with increased rents, insurance, groceries etc all on a limited income. But then like your rw mates don't or want to understand that. Anything to bash the underprivileged is your & rw moto.

@Kruiser17 Why do beneficiaries need help? Unless sickness beneficiaries that need to get to medical appointments beneficiaries are the last that need help as they have no work to get to and can walk in most cases if they live in large cities as have all day to get there.

@FranklNZ 🤣🤣 Goldcard 🤣🤣 I looked at an elderly person's grocery slip where she bought $46. 87 grocery from Woolworths on Tuesday [ Goldcard day] & $2.10 was her saving. Peanuts really. Sounds good after peters sales blurb but in reality not the big saving he predicts.
