Sharing a new paper just out in #AJB on my work with @umich_paleobot on the evolutionary relationships of fossil palms doi.org/10.1002/ajb2.1… tldr: we CT scanned over 200 palm fruits to find that modern palm tribes were having a blast in the Late Cretaceous and Paleocene🌴

Happy #AntarcticaDay2020 🇦🇶 heres some (complementary) Permian (~255 million years old) fossil trees from the Transantarctic mountains. 2 of them still have roots attached!
