Thank you, brother. I’ve been saying the same thing. If you’re upset, direct that energy at the U.S. government for actually voting no on recognizing slavery as one of the worst crimes in human history. Your own government voted NO . Why target a country like Ghana instead? At the same time, movements like FBA keep losing legitimacy because there isn’t a clear understanding of the issues. Instead, the conversation keeps getting driven by emotion and rhetoric rather than facts and strategy. Also Ghana is fighting for reparations from former colony Britain . Black American reparations will come from the US government - two different things .

Lol, that’s a very lame excuse. If that were the case, then they should have voted yes and clarified that reparations apply specifically to Black Americans and Carribeans but they cited NO The reality is that the U.S. does not believe in reparations, and they keep coming up with excuses.

@KultureKenya @ifuckedbeyonce_ The US government explained why they said no citing that African nations seems to think they are entitled to repair but they are not! They are not victims of the trans Atlantic slave trade!!!! Black Americans, Black South Americans and Caribbean’s are the descendants of victims.

This movement keeps losing legitimacy. Please, before reacting emotionally, take the time to learn and understand the issues. Ghana is asking for reparations from the British as a former colony. Black Americans, on the other hand, are seeking reparations from the U.S. government. These are two completely different issues. At the same time, you need to ask why your own country voted no at the UN on recognizing slavery as one of the most inhumane crimes in history. Your own government literally voted no, yet you’re here fighting a small country like Ghana. This movement keeps losing credibility because, time and again, it shows a lack of understanding of the issues and approaches them from an emotional standpoint framing everything as “Africans don’t like us” or “we’re better than Africans.” Instead, you should be leveraging moments like Ghana’s to put pressure on your own government asking why it voted no and advocating for Black American issues within the UN if you want them separated which is a legitimate thing to do but these emotional tantrums don’t help you because they come across as people who lack understanding and don’t educated themselves on issues first like step back and understand what happened first instead of running to the street waving a flag . Damn .

Wait what ? The United States refused to vote yes at the UN today on recognizing slavery as one of the most inhumane crimes in history, while most other countries voted in support. So it’s confusing to see people directing anger at a country like Ghana over a vote. FBA should piggy back on Ghana instead and ask why their government voted no they should use this momentum instead of chastising Ghana . I’m very confused . For context, Ghana’s advocacy is largely focused on pursuing reparations from former colonial powers like the United Kingdom. Reparations for Black Americans, on the other hand, would have to come from within the United States itself. I usually support my Black American brothers and sisters on these issues, but this feels misdirected. It risks turning into another unnecessary conflict between Africans and Black Americans instead of focusing on where real accountability lies. At the same time, FBA keeps loosing legitimacy when complex geopolitical issues are approached primarily from an emotional standpoint rather than through strategy, policy understanding, and informed advocacy.

I know, and that’s just a basic point. This movement keeps losing legitimacy because of a lack of basic understanding of the issues. Everything is approached from the perspective of “Africans hate us” or “we’re better than them.” Come on when their own government votes against motions recognizing slavery as one of the most inhumane crimes in history, that’s where the real focus should be.

@valhuntbeauty I think every Black person from everywhere would feel some rage when you know the history of Chattel slavery. Every time I see slave shacks still existing in some parts of the mason Dixie line and south, I want to burn them down! But remember, that it’s evidence!

This beautiful sistah is biracial with an Ugandan mother and a White dad from Mobile, Alabama. When she and her brothers grew older, her dad decided it was time for her and her brothers to meet the White side of the family and learn a little history of where they came from. Let’s take a moment and listen to the lyrics about her experience meeting her White family, and the vibes she received from them. #DemsUnited

Ademba, Thank you for admitting that you received funds from donors. Please share the loot with the parents of the children who died in your coup attempt. You mobilised 100k youths to register? Any youth who needs to be encouraged and mobilised by activists to register as a voter should actually be barred from voting. Such a youth is a burden to the nation.
