@khurpenchh There is nothing like synthetic paneer, imitation cheese /paneer made with sources other milk is permitted . No official notification yet and even if it's notified, it's practically impossible to implement it .

In India, if you mention paneer, cheese, butter or eggs, the first question people ask is: "Any side effects of taking these?" But when it comes to chips, biscuits, cola and ultra-processed junk food, nobody asks anything. Suddenly… side effects don’t matter. 😄

Excess artificial colours in processed foods pose serious health risks, especially to children. Recent recalls show need for stricter enforcement, not just rules. Consumers: stop use & return recalled products. @fssaiindia #FoodSafety

India Eats More Frequently Than It Ever Did: Breakfast. Mid-morning snack. Lunch. Evening snack Dinner. Boredom snack. The system never rests, and metabolism pays the price.

Why “Mild Diabetes” Can Be Dangerous There is no mild diabetes, also commonly referred to as "prediabetes." Even early diabetes means: 1) Chronic high insulin exposure (hyperinsulinemia) 2) Vascular stress (high insulin levels can be damaging) 3) Organ-level damage It’s well known & also documented that many complications are diagnosed around the time of “prediabetes” Micronutrient deficiencies (B12 & D) can worsen the condition. These are very common in India Symptoms may be mild, but the consequences will not be.

The First Organ Affected in Diabetes Is Not the Pancreas It’s the liver. Fatty liver appears early. Glucose regulation fails later. By the time sugar rises, the liver has been struggling for years.

How Stress Raises Insulin (Even Without Food) When stressed: 1) Cortisol rises 2) Liver releases glucose 3) The pancreas releases insulin 4) Hunger increases 5) Belly fat accumulates Stress management is insulin management.

Happy to share that my comment on India’s rising metabolic health crisis has been featured in Sakal Pune (28 Nov 2025) and is also published alongside the latest Lancet paper on ultra-processed foods. thelancet.com/journals/lance… As someone working on the ground with thousands of Indians, it’s encouraging to see mainstream media and global journals finally acknowledging what we’ve been warning for years - our food environment is driving an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, fatty liver, and heart disease. Grateful that my voice could contribute to this important conversation. cc @Moveribfan - Thank you for this study – Shashikant Iyengar, Metabolic Health India

Stop Calling These ‘Normal’ Many Indians call these normal: 1) Belly fat 2) Sleepiness after meals 3) Snoring 4) Sugary tea 5) Pre-diabetes (early diabetes) 6) Fatty liver 7) Joint pain These are not normal. These may be metabolic in nature. You may be able to correct them via changing the lifestyle.

The Truth About Indian Office Culture Indian offices don’t run on productivity. They run on constant sugar hits: 1) Sugary chai/coffee multiple times a day 2) Biscuits daily & also served at every meeting 3) Birthday cakes almost daily 4) Evening samosas - the unofficial office ritual 5) Late-night dinners after meetings or get-togethers This is not a workload. It’s a metabolic overload.

Why Kids Are Becoming Insulin Resistant It’s not one thing. It’s the whole environment. Daily foods: 1) Breakfast cereals 2) Biscuits 3) Chips 4) Chocolates 5) Junk foods (now daily, earlier only weekends) 6) Processed foods in school tiffins 7) Sugary drinks and fruit juices Lifestyle factors: 1) No sunlight exposure 2) No open-air play 3) No movement after meals 4) No physical activity (the real problem): Kids are sitting more than ever: 1) Long school hours 2) Tuitions 3) Screens 4) Homework 5) Almost zero sports 6) No rough-and-tough outdoor play 7) No muscle-building activity Muscles are the biggest glucose-burning organ. When kids don’t use their muscles, insulin resistance shows up early. This is why we now see: 1) Childhood obesity 2) PCOS in teenage girls 3) Early fatty liver 4) High TG 5) Early prediabetes Fix this early, or the future costs will be massive.

Bookmark & Share this. The 2-3 Tests Most Indians Need Whether you eat high-carb or low-carb, whether you eat protein-rich or protein-poor, One thing is true: Most Indians are running low on essential nutrients. The real silent epidemic? ✔ Vitamin B12 deficiency ✔ Vitamin D deficiency ✔ (For women) Iron deficiency Indians are low in many other micronutrients like folate or zinc but these three alone cause: • Fatigue • Low mood • Brain fog • Poor sleep • Hair fall • Tingling/numbness • Low immunity • Weakness • Hormonal issues • Poor metabolic control And most people have no idea because they never test them for years. Even children are deficient in these. What to Do: ✔ Get B12, Vitamin D, and (if female) Iron/Ferritin tested. ✔ If low → see a doctor and correct them with the right supplements. ✔ Fix your food to support these nutrients naturally. ✔ Retest after 3 months Simple truth: Many “mysterious” or unrecognised health issues in India improve dramatically with just these 2–3 tests and corrections. Better nutrients → better metabolism → better health.

#HealthyLiving #healthcare

Ghee Was Never the Villain We quit ghee for seed oils. We lost our immunity, hormones, and metabolic stability. Bring back real fats; ditch industrial oils. Never listen to (industry-funded) professional associations' guidelines.

A good image shared by @bava23 on LinkedIn. The current system focuses only on the second part - diagnosing Type 2 Diabetes after blood sugar crosses a threshold. This approach basically says: “Wait until you become diabetic, then take this pill... add another one next year... and end up with multiple pills within a decade.” How can we change this? We need to focus on the first part, as shown in the image below. Insulin levels rise much before blood sugar does - this is the early warning system that alerts you to what’s coming. Checking fasting and postprandial insulin (different from blood sugar tests) gives you an early clue that diabetes, PCOS, hypertension, or even cardiovascular disease might be developing. Unfortunately, the current system isn’t interested in this first stage - because addressing it early would mean fewer lifelong patients. But if you’re smart, you’ll act early. Address insulin resistance before it turns into diabetes, PCOS, or hypertension. If your fasting and postprandial insulin are high, take action through lifestyle changes: 1) Lower your carbohydrate intake, especially refined carbs. 2) Eliminate refined seed oils. 3) Increase protein intake. 4) Start regular exercise. 5) Many other factors, like sleep, nutrient deficiencies, etc, need to be addressed additionally Act now as prevention is the real cure. @dlifein
