If I earn 1L ₹, 35000₹ is taken by the govt. Suppose out of the remaining 65000, I invest 30% which is 20,000. With 10% gain, I got 2000. Tax on 2000 is 12.5 which is 250₹. I paid 35,000₹ income tax & 250₹ ltcg. Now I should ask to reduce income tax & surcharge or ltcg?
