Wow, what a whirlwind the last few days have been. From the bottom of my heart, thank you South Carolina. This historic win was possible because of all of you. You sent a clear message that you're ready for something different–you're ready for change. I look forward to bringing our vision of a more conservative, more affordable, and more accountable South Carolina to reality. It's time to unite as a Party and work as a team. My opponents in this race are not my enemies. They were simply my political opponents. Now, we must be lockstep in barnstorming the state as we head to the General Election. Hearing the news we won, exactly one year after I announced I was running for Governor, is something I'll never forget. Being surrounded by family, friends, and staff as we got the news was a "pinch me" moment. To my supporters, thank you for believing in me and our mission. Thank you for all your hard work to make this possible. I won't let you down. Next stop: November 3. We can't take it for granted.

His term as vice president doesn’t end until 2029 so that is correct.
