We were extremely pleased with the attendance at the screening event of our film BonBonTrack produced by Wild Cyprus. The film screened at Avenue Cinemax tells the 15-year story of how Bonelli’s eagle, once thought to be on the brink of extinction in Northern Cyprus..

…The two chicks were safely returned and monitoring them with GPS trackers has confirmed their recent successful fledging. Thanks to KKTC Turizm ve Çevre Bakanlığı and Cyprus Environment Foundation for supporting our work.

During our routine bonelli's eagle monitoring in April we found a nests had collapsed: the two downy chicks were uninjured on the ground. With climbing support and advice from our UK partners we were able to restore the nest with wooden struts…

The trip is guided and a mixture of driven routes with VHF comms between vehicles, and short walked routes around key migrant hotspots.

As well as guided birding around the Cape, we will spend time with a British Trust for Ornithology ringing team during their annual expedition to Karpaz. Here we expect to see a range of birds caught and ringed as part of a global research effort…
