DTCC SETS JULY 2026 LAUNCH FOR TOKENIZATION SERVICE WITH 50+ FIRMS ONBOARD DTCC (@The_DTCC) announced timelines for its tokenization service: limited production trades in July 2026, full launch in October. Built with feedback from 50+ TradFi and DeFi firms. Eligible assets: Russell 1000 equities, major index ETFs, US Treasury bills, bonds, and notes. The service runs on the ComposerX platform across multiple pre-approved blockchains, with cross-chain interoperability part of the design spec. DTC received an SEC No-Action Letter in December 2025 authorizing the three-year pilot. Tokenized assets carry the same entitlements, investor protections, and ownership rights as traditional securities, with DTC remaining the source of settlement finality. The 50-firm working group spans custodians, asset managers, brokers, trading venues, and back-office providers. This is the first time tokenized security entitlements held through a US Central Securities Depository will be available on public and private-permissioned blockchains. Russell 1000 alone covers ~93% of US public equity market cap.
