835 logical qubits. That's the new published requirement to break ECDSA-256 on a quantum computer. Three separate papers in 2026 alone have reduced this number: → 1,175 qubits (Babbush et al., early 2026) → 1,098 qubits (Chevignard et al., EUROCRYPT 2026) → 835 qubits (Luo et al., arXiv:2607.13816, July 15, 2026) The algorithmic barrier keeps falling. #kvanta5 #PostQuantum #NISTFIPS204 #PostQuantum #ML_DSA #NISTFIPS204 #QuantumComputing #PoW #Crypto

So, there are two forks happening on #Bitcoin over the next two months. One that will introduce backward-compatible changes, and another that will introduce backward-incompatible ones. Here's what Bitcoiners should expect from both forks: christinedkim.substack.com/p/issue-48

Thanks for the mention, @christine_dkim — and for the clearest summary of the lattice vs. hash-based tradeoff space I've seen in one place. Running ML-DSA-87 on a live PoW chain has been the best forcing function for understanding exactly what sipa meant by "dominant element." The Schnorr overhead in a hybrid really is rounding error at this scale but the *implementation* overhead of a hybrid is not. That tension feels under-explored. Great read. Sharing with the team.

Most blockchains are still running ECDSA. Bitcoin. Ethereum. Nearly every PoW chain in existence. Elliptic curve signatures break under a sufficiently capable quantum computer. That day is not today. The question is whether your chain is ready before it arrives. We didn't build KV5 because quantum computers are a present threat. We built it because retrofitting post-quantum cryptography onto a live blockchain after the fact is nearly impossible. The time to build the infrastructure is before the threat is acute. What makes Tuna-17 different isn't the qubit count. It's the access model. Any researcher, student, or educator worldwide can run experiments on real quantum hardware via Quantum Inspire — free, no usage caps, no gatekeeping. The hardware is now democratized. quantumzeitgeist.com/qutech-qubit-p…

Congrats on the milestone — but this isn't the first. KVANTA5 mainnet launched June 1, 2026 with ML-DSA-87 (FIPS 204 Level 5) from genesis. Every transaction since block #1 carries a Dilithium-5 signature — no classical component anywhere in the signature path. First non-coinbase P2QR spend: Block #283, TXID 62572d2127da3d42afb0b20757edb844b0820851f4d8340cbc7e26954ae6272c Verify: kvanta5.live Also worth noting: QoreChain's EVM lane still authenticates via eth_secp256k1. A hybrid-required design and a natively post-quantum chain from genesis are different things.

Today, QoreChain did what no blockchain has done before. A fully post-quantum transaction on a public mainnet, secured end to end by all three @NIST post-quantum standards. 1,000 QOR, sent to a wallet created in @keplrwallet : - Signature: ML-DSA-87 (FIPS 204, Dilithium-5) - Encapsulation: ML-KEM-1024 (FIPS 203, Kyber) - Hashing: SHAKE-256 Others swap a single signature and call it quantum-safe. This is the whole stack: how it is signed, how keys are exchanged, how it is hashed. Every layer, quantum-resistant. No custom software. A standard Keplr wallet. A live mainnet. A transaction anyone can open and check. The post-quantum era of blockchain starts here: explore.qore.network/tx/4E49D57F86F…

June 2, 2026. Block #283. TXID: 62572d21da3d42afb0b20757edb844b0820851f4d8340cbc7e26954ae6272c The first ML-DSA-87 transaction on a live public mainnet. 46,928 confirmations and counting. KVANTA5 launched with ML-DSA-87 (NIST FIPS 204 Level 5) from genesis — no classical component anywhere in the signature path. The post-quantum era started quietly. On June 22nd, Trump signed two executive orders establishing quantum as a federal strategic focus. The US federal government and the KV5 blockchain made the same cryptographic decision. One made it by executive order with a 2030 deadline. The other made it at genesis on June 1st.

Kvanta5 (KV5) is the only live PoW chain running the algorithm the US government just mandated for all federal systems. ML-DSA is the signature scheme securing every transaction on this chain — from block 1, June 1, 2026. The thesis just got a government co-signer. explainx.ai/blog/trump-qua…

KVANTA5 (KV5) Mainnet is LIVE The first post-quantum settlement infrastructure on SHA-256 PoW with native ML-DSA-87 Level 5 security is now operational. The chain is producing blocks, and the network is open for mining and exploration. Block explorer: kvanta5.live
