@SportsnetSpec it’s not the first time in this tournament that mackinnon’s embellishment led to a candian powerplay. no doubt that mcdavid has much more integrity as an athlete

Players embellish to get a high-sticking penalty, of course. But when a stick touches your face, it's a natural reaction to snap your head back. So you can question the ref for not swallowing his whistle late in a game. It's unfair to question MacKinnon's reaction, IMO.

@MarkLazerus probably advantage usa since the refs are closer to the us players. they know them all and in some cases have a good realtionship with players.

But the NHL wants their guys out there with their players , so it’s naturally going to create overlap with countries
