With improved technical coordination on the Culture Stage and tighter stage transitions, Tidal Rave can easily cement itself as one of the most outstanding youth music and culture events on the continent. Rating 8.5 / 10. Great experience and worth attending again #Shattawale

In a nutshell, my first Tidal Rave experience was really great. The music, security, creative direction, and experiential zones made the festival worth the hype.

6. Creative Direction The creative direction was one of the festival’s strong points. From the main stage visuals and side screens, to the storytelling throughout the experience, to the sustainability efforts, the event’s creative concept played out very well.

However, by evening the venue was fully packed, with high energy and strong crowd participation. Overall, turnout was great.

5. Attendance Attendance during the daytime was not impressive, possibly because many attendees assumed the organizers wouldn’t stick to the program time (“Ghana Man Time” mentality).

They offered attendees fun activities beyond the performances and added depth to the festival experience.

Aside from that moment, the execution on the main stage was solid. Experience Zone The experiential zones were highly impressive, well curated, interactive and visually appealing.

Main Stage The main stage was well coordinated overall. There were a few noticeable errors, especially during Ayra Starr’s set preparation. The stage lights should have been turned off while the setup was ongoing, and Manuel and Vyrusky could have continued performing.

Culture Stage The idea of a second stage, the Culture Stage was brilliant. It added variety and gave emerging artists and creatives a platform. However, it faced power challenges, which affected coordination and forced some DJs and MCs to miss their scheduled time slots.

DJ Vyrusky & Kojo Manuel did well and brought nostalgic old-school moments to light. They had noticeably more time than the others, but still delivered. The remaining DJs and MCs (apologies if names are missing) also held their sessions down excellently.

On the flip side: My least impressive act was Molly. Despite having good songs, her set felt more like screaming than singing and she struggled to connect with the crowd. DJs & MCs DJ Sleek was my personal best, limited time, yet he and his MCs kept the energy extremely high.

Kwesi Amewuga, Gonda Boy, Larrusso, and Lalid demonstrated that Ghanaian music has a bright future. Although they had limited time, they maximized their stage moments.

Shatta Wale, the wildcard of the night, and Kwaku Smoke kept the crowd on their feet throughout, with massive audience engagement. Black Sherif and Olivetheboy delivered a thrilling back-to-back set that gave the crowd exactly what they came for.
