Hey all! I am no longer employed by Global/VGW. I truly enjoyed knowing the tight knit community, chatting and serving you, and even meeting some of you in person. I don't know what I'll do next yet, but maybe we'll meet at the tables and I can deliver another bad beat!

Today is my first day as an employee @WSOP. I strongly believe in the vision for poker's biggest and best series in the world, and I greatly look forward to helping to build the brand. It's been the honor of my career to be a part of the broadcast for the Main Event, the greatest poker tournament in the world. And I'm thrilled to expand the partnership with the WSOP in an expanded role, as both a host and a producer. I can't wait for you all to see the team's vision for the 2026 World Series of Poker come to life. Player engagement is a really important facet of this deal, to both me and the WSOP. I feel like, as a player myself (not a very good one), I can help to strengthen the bridge that connects the WSOP and its community. I don't promise to accommodate every single request. I do promise to genuinely listen to your thoughts and concerns, and to continuously work on improving the player experience. My DMs are open. The viewing experience matters too, whether you're watching a livestream at home or on the rail of a final table. I'm excited to work on that directly and to gather ideas from the community on how we can continue to raise the bar. DIM. THE. LIGHTS.

Well said, poker content needs to go back to the basics. Fun, social, light hearted. A lot of content is made for people already in poker and anytime I talk to my non poker friends about the new world of “GTO” and “solvers” they have 0 desire to look more into it, where as before they’d always be open to trying a home game, having some drinks and hanging out playing this crazy card game. It’s becoming more inaccessible and intimidating for people to get into now that every level is adapting squeezing every EV possible in every spot. People outside looking in, just want to playing an exciting card game, feel the joy of winning a hand and meeting new people along the way

Reasonable take here from Blaise, wanted to add my own thoughts. Instead of marketing poker as something for academics or a means of wealth creation, I think we need to show people how much fun the game itself is to play. Strategy certainly plays a role and undoubtedly solvers have a place within that. But focusing too much on GTO lines can be off putting to less experienced players and also in my opinion, are way less fun than exploitative ones — like bluff catching a theoretically 'bad' hand vs a wild player, or ramping up the aggression against a tighter one. And then there’s the social aspect. I promise I’m not trying to shill here, but this past week in Madrid with @888poker LIVE was possibly the most fun I’ve had playing live poker in over a decade. I used to go to Vegas with a group of friends, twice a year, and we’d spend a lot of time playing low stakes mixed games together. All of us were at least a little bit studied and obviously wanted to win, but when I look back on those memories I remember how much I laughed, not how much I won (or if I even did). My two bullets in the €888 Madrid Main Event didn’t go well — The biggest hands were losing KK to QQ and top two pair against bottom set. In a year from now, I won’t remember that. But I will remember the friendly banter with my opponent in the Kings hand, and our shared laughter when I playfully scolded him for not making Day 2 despite getting all my chips. I’ll also remember the good vibes from the older gentleman who stacked me with a set, and him saying “Accepto” every time he decided to call a bet. Given the nature of poker tournaments, almost every single one ends in some sort of disappointing fashion but I had a great time and that'll be what sticks with me. In general, it behooves poker players to focus less on the results. I guess what I'm saying is the marketing of our game could benefit by doing something similar, and highlighting the experience at the tables.
Blaise Bourgeois 🔥@BlaiseBourgeois

I strongly believe the best way to grow the new generation of poker is to introduce poker as an academic/math-based game, rather than an extension of gambling. What hasn't worked is celebrity/creator games, hyper tournament formats, and other ways that increase luck factors.

Back in 2023, my good friend @jessefullen asked me to be part of the PokerNews Stream Team streaming on @official_glp. I had always loved streaming and saw it as a great opportunity to really push myself and try to grow. I had no idea at the time where it would lead. Along the way, I realized this could be more than just a hobby. It could be a real space for me to grow in and share my passion for poker and storytelling. I got to live out a dream of being a sponsored streamer, building my stream, creating a fun and inclusive community, improving together, and even having some great wins along the way. Those streaming years were truly some of the best times of my life. That wasn’t the only opportunity PokerNews gave me. I was also asked to work at the WSOP as a digital media creator, something I never imagined myself pursuing. From the moment I arrived, I was hooked. The energy of the room and the chance to help tell poker stories through content made it clear this was something I wanted to keep doing. That opportunity led to to me working WSOP 2024 and 2025, WPT Wynn World Championship, MSPT Playground, WSOP Bahamas, and hopefully many more events to come. PokerNews also asked me to be their Ontario Ambassador, creating newsletters, content, and streams to help grow the game in my home province. It was another incredible chance to be creative, learn, and represent PokerNews in a meaningful way. I can’t thank PokerNews and everyone who's helped me along the way enough for this ride. Three years ago, I didn’t even know this path was an option for me, and now I can’t get enough of it. I’m excited to keep learning, creating, and meeting amazing people along the way. I lived a dream and I can't wait to see where this world brings me next, thank you @PokerNews ❤️

Another adventure in the books! 14 days covering WSOP Paradise as part of the World Series of Poker team. A few years ago, I didn’t even know jobs like this were possible for me. Now it’s exactly where I want to be. Grateful to do work I genuinely enjoy, alongside great people who make every trip memorable. Can’t wait for the next one. 🇧🇸♠️❤️
