It’s funny how one table in one paper can be enough to light a fire of indignation in you.

My brain fogginess is the best it’s been since it started. But I still find myself unable to recall the details of a conversation. I remember talking to the person, but I can’t grab at what we discussed.

I moonlight as a personal trainer and I’ve cancelled my PT sessions for the week because I cannot foresee being able to stand for 2 hours. Probably not a single 30 minute session.

I’m one-week post COVID diagnosis. My experience with the disease was overall fairly mild. I’ve been sicker. But it’s definitely an insidious disease. I’d call myself a “fit person” in that I like to run, jump, and do silly exercise to fast music.

I’ve become extremely interested in prisons and the societal expectations for criminal rehabilitation versus criminal punishment. It certainly seems like we, in Australia, want prison to be a place of punishment but do we want that more or to the exclusion of rehabilitation?

The Current Time In Which We Live have made me very curious about how the concept of professionalism is going to change over the next ten years. We’ve all had windows into each other’s home lives for a year now. You’ve seen me in shorts. Is this how we are professional now?

I think the really jarring thing for me with QLD’s recent short lockdown is absolutely nothing about my life changed between being locked down and lock down lifting. That’s probably not a good sign, right?

When I told my grandfather about my first publication being R&R-ed he asked whether I was being asked to change what I was saying (presumably to fit some “agenda” he is concerned about). I replied no. No one seems to mind what I say as long as I can back it up.

@DianvanderwalDr @thegoodgraduate @AcademicChatter It’s funny though how a person grows and changes. Just recently I was able to imagine myself maybe one day wanting to take the PhD path again. I’m by no means decided on it, but I’ve left the door ajar.

@thegoodgraduate @AcademicChatter I took leave from my PhD at the beginning of March 2019 and formally withdrew on Jan 1 2020 and it was such a good decision. I woke up in March 2019 and realised I didn’t want to the jobs a PhD would give me. Why was I doing this?

I politely suggest that every field could do with modernising it’s understanding of what is and is not culturally acceptable among the cohort who have never known a life without the internet.
