MEET ICC’S PRE-TRIAL JUDGES The International Criminal Court (ICC) released the pre-trial chamber I judges who issued the warrant of arrest against former president Rodrigo Duterte. Romanian judge Iulia Antoanella Motoc will lead the investigation as the presiding judge. Joining her are judges Reine Adélaïde Sophie Alapini-Gansou and María del Socorro Flores Liera. Duterte, who is turning 80 on March 28, 2025, could become the first Asian former head of state to go on trial at the ICC. He was charged with the crime of murder as a crime against humanity and bore criminal responsibility for the alleged murder of at least 43 people between 2011 and 2019.
