At the time, Sudan was facing a food crisis and Kevin Carter was celebrated for his iconic photo. But not everyone was happy with his work. While on the radio, a woman asked Kevin Carter what happened to the child after taking the photo. He responded that he didn’t know because he was in a rush to catch a flight. The woman said there were two vultures in the photo; one was just holding the camera. These words deeply affected Kevin Carter. He fell into a serious depression and took his own life in 1994.
