I survived day one…pain was there but hopefully it’ll ease up…ready to do it all again Thursday💚

First day back tomorrow in almost 5 months. My recovery will be a long process so baby steps for now but getting there I’m excited to get back to OT! 💪🏽💚

2 surgeries in the space of 8 months was a lot although I still have issues with one hip slowly everyday the other is getting stronger - trying my best to build my strength so I can return full time as an OT💪🏽💚

@Sue_T2O My job just involves a lot of heavy equipment/patients helping them get from A to B with equipment and my hips can’t manage it so need to think about something less physical

@KyraHTOT This should not form part of your job: requiring you to undertake manual handling tasks without mitigations (equipment, extra staff, etc). There should be Safe Operating Procedures & risk ax for each task, formulated by the ManHan Team. You can refuse to carry out such tasks.

Any suggestions.. I’ve been struggling for a while with the manual handling/heavy lifting side of my OT job (rehab)…I’m currently looking at new OT jobs but I need something with less manual handling..I’d prefer not to work In MH or peads also don’t want a ‘24/7desk’ job Thanks

Surgery completed second time different hip! Now to just rest with my kitty and get working on that rehab so I get back to fulltime OT! 🦿🏃‍♀️⏳

Met with my consultant last week to be told I have the same issue in my left hip I will need surgery on that hip too💔 so that means more time out of OT Iv only been back 6 weeks after so long off💔😭

When you have to encourage the nursing staff to take a positive risk on a man who desperate for a cigarette because of an absconsion risk with limited mobility and a 4 wheeled Walker…think he will be ok 🙈 and yes he was perfect just wanted to look at all the cars in the carpark

4 months post hip op - rehab coming along nicely very slow due to lack of physio available but iv been doing my own rehab plan - this is a big struggle at 24 I will defo reconsider before asking a 80 year old to do this🤣

Hooooly hell - I could swear but y’know, keeping it professional… I got NINETY TWO percent on my dissertation. Could also cry but I just put a full face of make up on ready to go out - so here’s me being chuffed with this piece of work! #Dissertation #OccupationalTherapy

Today I finally got the all clear to get rid of the crutches and for the first time in 2 years I walked unaided! Little steps🚶‍♀️

Week 3 into my recovery after hip surgery and I totally underestimated how hard it would be not only physically but mentally and emotionally! A mix of wanting to do more but not wanting to over do it. We really do make the worst patients! 🙄🤣
