why is it that in almost every anime the male characters backstory is like he watched his entire family get murdered so he wants to protect those he holds dear! and the fenale character is just like uhhhh she got bullied in 3rd grade for being ugly so she wants to be sexy!

@generic_hero @soulofkab @drybones_5 That might actually stand a chance, seeing as last I saw he was trying to target common cross city commuter routes, which is one of the few applications where a high speed rail or equivalent would make sense in the US.

@soulofkab @drybones_5 In terms of freight we're actually pretty far ahead of europe, if you look up anything about EU vs US freight it's all articles about how backwards and terrible EU freight is.

@L1BERTY_PRIME @drybones_5 Yeah, the distances we're talking about in the US planes actually are more economical for personal travel. US is perfect for old school freight/cargo rail lines. Those will be around for hundreds of years probably. If I were to take a train anywhere long distance, I'd go slow.
