@StanCollymore I was over 19 stones when the picture on the left was taken last May, the picture on the right was taken last week in the gym after a hard workout.
Just shows that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
Intervals.
Can't stress enough how much intervals in particular drive change in the brain and for those with MH issues it can be an incredibly effective tool in your box when it comes to combating depression, anxiety and more.
My posts running are at a decent clip, but the point is that in November even doing a walk left me physically and mentally empty. So you can see the progress, no gimmicks, no tricks, just showing up outdoors, on a bike, treadmill will guarantee to change things for you for the better.
I watch a really good Instagram post about intervals showing beginners. They did 1 min run ( or bike or walk up a good hill or row, whatever gets you breathing heavily) and a SEVEN min walk, then repeated that 3 or 4 times, 3 or 4 times a week. So if you're carrying timber or haven't exercised the 1 min ( or 30 seconds) doesn't change but the rest can according to your fitness. That means everyone reading this can do a minute then have 1 to 7 minutes walking before going again. A super way to start, similar to what I did in November.
This isn't about having a pro footballer or ex footballer or influence who spends 24/7 in the gym, this is about YOU taking steps to start something, anything and deciding that's better than starting on the 1st of never.
My mental health is significantly better and more robust simply by exercising with a purpose, cutting out the shit that we all are bombarded with ( sweets, chocolate, alcohol) and trusting yourself that by going through a HARD 2 or 3 weeks ( as opposed to hard 2 or 3 years being mentally poorly or physically poorly) you can break the cycle of poor mental health and for many reading this, being overweight and not knowing where to start.
Try! What have you got to lose? Weight? Poor mental health? Low self esteem? All of these things are proven to get better with exercise.
Forget motivation and going twice on a high then not going again. If I went every time I was motivated I'd go once every pancake day! Just get up, get out the door and do it for yourself, and only you.
Many of you inspire me every day with your own stories l, videos and refusal to give into adversity, so thank you, it helps a lot. So likewise I'm here for you to help and hopefully point one or two to cast iron ways to get to better physical and mental health.
Come on!
Stan ❤️
@ScoutTottenham While it might seem like an absolute disaster when it happens to any club, the reality is that the championship is a great league to be playing in.
My club Villa had 3 years in it and it was fantastic to be honest.
Does anyone else go to bed thinking about Tottenham Hotspur getting relegated… then wake up thinking about it again?
I love this club, but it’s actually making me feel sick.

@bluesofgoodison I’m with you pal.
They don’t look like they could buy a win at the moment.
It will definitely be the biggest relegation in premier league history if they do go down 😂😂
Can’t see how Spurs survive. Don’t have anywhere near the bottle and fight West Ham, Leeds & Forest have, neither do their fans. It’s over. Biggest relegation in the history of the Prem
@L7Lower Mate agent fees cost more in Football in 2026 than John McGinn cost us. It’s crazy.
Greatest value for money signing of all time and I think that will remain for many many years to come mate!
I really hope John McGinn spends the rest of his career at Villa.
From Championship to Champions League, he has been with us giving his best through our rise back to consistent European football. There is no man more worthy of the captains arms in our squad.

@TotalVilla_ He had his best game in ages for us yesterday I thought.
He was everywhere and he won his personal battle in that midfield against a team that were always going to compete in that area of the pitch.
I’ve been very critical of Amadou Onana on multiple occasions since he signed for us.
However, he was really impressive against Nottingham Forest yesterday and was a presence in midfield, something he’s failed to do at times.
I hope he can play like this every game 👏 #avfc
@StanCollymore Points on the board are more beneficial at this stage of the season than games in hand in my opinion.
I reckon Arsenal will have enough to just pip city to the title but I would love to see Arsenal blow it again just because Arteta is such a bell end 😂
@BookofAEGIS Konsa is such a mainstay in the team that when he is out for any reason we can get a bit panicky about it.
Truth is that Lindelof has been magnificent for us when he has played.
Dunno why people are so down on Lindelof coming in for Konsa to play alongside Pau Torres for Villa (#avfc) when they've started 8 games together this season and have a record of 5 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses (63% win rate).
That's a solid partnership however you spin it.
Lindelof and Pau, plus Bizot were class today. Very impressed with Onana. Ollie worked really hard and unlucky not to score in first half. Quiet day for Youri, Ross and SJM. Rough day for Morgan
"He'd walk into Arsenal's team"
A look at what the best options would be for Morgan Rogers, with reports indicating that multiple teams are eyeing the Aston Villa player this summer.
Villa are in a strong position, however, with five years left on the 23-year-old's contract meaning he will be one of the highest-valued players of the summer.
@mgmatt1983 I thought that tonight was the first time that he actually didn’t look interested in the outcome of the game.
Whether that’s down to him just being in poor form at the moment or there’s a bigger picture we have still to find out.
Do we think Rogers is just going through one of those horrific spells that he has, or that he's starting to believe his own hype?
Either way, performances like tonight won't help his cause.

@StanCollymore Cash was in danger of going down with twisted blood by the end of the game 😂
Rowe is a quality player and definitely one that we should be keeping an eye on when the transfer window opens in the summer.
@AlyssonSZN Totally agree with this !
If he wants to leave then that’s fine but don’t let it drag on all summer and let it become a bidding war between the clubs that want to sign him.
@AVFC_Connor_ He didn’t become a bad player overnight, he was simply struggling for form in front of goal and that will always affect a striker.
He has proven again that he is still our best striker and hopefully he will now go on and score a few more before the season ends.
@VillaViews_ He didn’t look at all happy with him after we conceded the goal that Bologna scored.
Bailey had only been on the pitch for less than five minutes but he couldn’t be bothered to try and stop the opposing player when they were breaking 😡😡
