Last week, we got to link up with the Santa Monica Surf Team for S.A.L.T. — Surfer Awareness of Lifesaving Techniques. By equipping surfers of all ages with the skills to recognize distressed swimmers and respond effectively, we’re expanding safety beyond the tower.

Highs at the beach reached the mid-80s today, and @nwslosangeles reports no signs of letting up through at least Friday evening. A Heat Advisory is in effect, with temperatures running 20–35 degrees above normal and daily and monthly records likely to be broken.
