@Onsogbu Security is local. Until the government starts to hold community responsible for security. This problem may abate.

A government spends millions installing solar streetlights so that our roads can be safer, businesses can thrive at night, and criminals can be kept away. Then, under the cover of darkness, some criminals pull down the same streetlights, steal the solar panels, steal the batteries, and sell them for a fraction of their value. The next morning, the community wakes up to darkness again. The painful part? Some of the same people who complain that government is not doing enough will watch these acts happen and say nothing. Some will even buy the stolen items. How can a nation move forward when we destroy what was built for our own benefit? Every solar light destroyed is not just metal and wires. It is a child walking home in darkness. It is a trader losing customers at night. It is a community becoming less secure. It is taxpayers' money thrown away. We are quick to blame leaders for every problem, but sometimes we must look in the mirror. No government can develop a country if citizens keep sabotaging every effort at development. The truth is painful: Nigeria is not only fighting corruption in high places; it is also fighting irresponsibility at the grassroots. Until we learn to protect public property as if it belongs to us because it actually does we will keep spending money replacing what should never have been destroyed in the first place. A nation is not built only by those who construct roads, schools, and streetlights. It is also built by citizens who refuse to let criminals destroy them.

INTELLIGENT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT TINUBU IS DOING. "I believe we have a president who is ready to fix this nation. I believe he has seen it all, and I believe he is well-intentioned. The system is br*ken, so you can't fix the presidency, the leadership, and leave the system. In my opinion, I think we have a good head, but the head is not enough. So, leadership and system fa?lure are the is$ues. In my opinion, therefore, as a 73-year-old man who has seen this nation and has lived in another economy for 41 years, I think we have focused too much on the people who lead and not on the system that runs. Let me tell you why I said that. Look at the United States of America. How come a groundnut farmer ran America and America didn't fall apart? I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. How come a Hollywood man ran America and America didn't fall apart? You know who I'm talking about? They have built a system that is bigger than the president, and even the Supreme Court can say no to the president. What we should be aiming at is, in fact, the cr!s?s on the ground now. We should use it to face some truths. From the presidency to the man on the street, mention who is behind any ev¿l, let us know them, let them be taken to court, let them be charged, and let there be no forg¿veness. Let's begin to clean the system because if you say there's corr¥pt¿on, there's corr¥pt¿on with the taxi man, where he turns things around. There's corr¥pt¿on with the man who even picks up the d¿rt in front of my house unless I give an extra naira. There's corr¥pt¿on with the traffic officer who says maybe we should stop because it's easier to drive a big car. He says, 'I can make you pass, but you must give me money.' So corr¥pt¿on is not just a leader." ~ Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo says President Bola Tinubu is willing to fix Nigeria but argues that systemic reforms and stronger institutions are needed to address corr¥pt¿on and governance challenges.

The “Clown” called Nigerians.2 Who is my neigh bour? ” But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29 NKJV Before we become the citizen of our country; regardless whether it is adopted or natural. It could even be by making false claimings to drive asylum. There is life that originated from being an offspring of a man and a woman coming together. In effect, we grew up knowing other people, humans of similar origins. Rich or poor as long as we breathe we are alive. Really, growth is measured by our perception and reality. At every stage of life we have a neighbor that is why our immediate environment is described neighborhood. This relate to our politics and political understanding as well. Democracy is based on good neighborliness. Why would l allow a bad neighbor govern me. Would I follow a “Bus to Abilene”. Many a time, we see politicians and political pundit make assertions on the television. As to the what the result of elections will be like. Many are coleus that brightens the tv station. The station knows the truth, but economic factors limit them to these men and women. They are meant to say what will keep the watchers glued to the station. What the reality is; is that those who vote in countries like ours don’t watch tv and where they do, they watch the neighborhood one that speaks their language, relate to their thinking and level of knowledge. The high and mighty television guests, live very far away. The politicians he talks about live amongst the people. When the son of the pepper seller was driven out of school, he paid fees. When it was her father’s burial he followed her to their village, even hired or provided a bus. Oh! On Election Day the pundit expect votes for good English. But no, the Good Samaritan is not he, who knows what and how it happened in Australia, Germany, Uk etc. For his friends and television audience, a Chinese proverb: “A wise man makes his own decision: an ignorant man follows public opinion”. Davido today went for site inspection on his new Eko Atlantic mansion. During the inspection, he said: “The crazy thing about my Eko Atlantic house is that it’s right opposite the new U.S. Embassy. I can literally send someone across to help with my visa. The structure should be up before December, and the interior is going to be m@d. I’m going to Turkey and China with my brother-in-law to sort that out.”

The “Clown” called Nigerians. I am a Nigerian and proud one at that, I believe in this country, but … A German by the name; August Kekule in a breeze sleep, (the type that comes when you overwork) solved a problem that becomes an everlasting structural formula of Benzene a compound used today in many medical and non medical applications. Combining the C as Carbon with the H as Hydrogen in circular form, that he referred to as the snake bitten its tail. A Swedish engineer Claes Adelsköld submitted a proposal to the King of Sweden Karl XV in 1865. Intending a licking between Sweden and Denmark via the large ocean sound. However this became a reality several decades afterwards despite several disagreements and agreements. The Oresund bridge as it is known was completed in the year 2000 what is intriguing here is that the fit was achieved by mainly local engineers with assistance from others from their region. No Americans, no Japanese nor Chinese talk less of Africans. The bridge went right inside water and came out. Both rail and motor ways. When you talk to a Nigerian, educated or not, at this time of global crisis; the question you will have to answer is: “Sebi” we have Oil? Yes, we do. America has, British has, France is an oil producing nation, Oh! Russia, they have a lot of it. All these nations have developed exploration and processing methods and are more in control of their production. Do they all refine ? Yes. Despite all this they all sell and buy at market price. When the war between Russia and Ukraine started one European country tried subsidy but quickly reversed it. We have oil that; we cannot of our own explore, process, adequately maintain even the one built for us. Only scientific knowledge can take us to the promised land. We are still being led by art. Most of the thriving nations of the world are led by science. Because the real art is the act of science. Createful science not “book” science that translates to nothing but theoretical values that has little or no relevance to the society. I was somewhere recently; I saw trailers/ tippers loading out kaolin; I asked the motorbic ridder where the tippers are headed. He proudly told me, they are for the Chinese tiles companies we have many of them here.I felt sorry that someone from thousands of kilometers away knows where Kaolin is here and his making good use of it, here we are doing nothing with it. Not even a small flower verse. Ohhh! “ the faults dear Brutus, not our stars but ourselves that we undermined” -Shakespeare It is not only in the government but the populace that are not ready for development. This “Lawayi” as Egba people will say doesn’t have any understanding of politics nor administration. Many of this opportunist are on the television talking without any substance. Amaechi would have been a better candidate with or without Obi. He has a better record and political experience to face the president. That would have resolved the rotational problem.

Of Trader and Of Governance. Let me start by saying I am Trader. Born into trading; both parents. And I remember very well Chief Omolade Okoya Thomas of blessed memories, sometimes at Presidential Hotel in Port harcourt during a Miss Nigerian contest was introduced in a political manner, he promptly responded: I am a businessman and would never be a politician. To succeed in business, especially trading, you need attributes that are not common with politicians. Likewise the temerities of a politician or public administrator can hardly be found in a trader. Take a case in Lagos, where Baba Otedola ( Of blessed memories) was elected the governor( Nice man, great man with sincere purpose ) he was marked and couldn’t do much for the three months he was governor. Likewise Obi Peter has no tangible record of performance for 8years Awka remains what it was and no meaningful development. If you have been to the African shrine before with the “Abami”himself in control; he will be drinking water and the audience will shout!!! “Ogogoro !!!, his usual reply: you know ogogoro man ( referring to Dr Tai SOLARIN of blessed memories too though he will frown at that in his lifetime - because he fought for the legalization of the local gin; not because he drinks it.) but if na “Igboo” na me be president for that. Nothing is in possible! But the exceptional requires special anointing and unquestionable demonstration of wit. I have not seen that around now. The trait of a trader is to please his customer and attract would be. The law they say is an Axe, a good public administrator work with the axing of the law. Compassion only comes after the axe. When we look we must look to see. And be guarded by what we see. We must perceive well to get understanding and take informed decisions. Adedoyin Olanrewaju Lagos 0526

Thank you for taking the matter up. The problem with us is that we are too corrupt to fight corruption. And sometimes ignorance and cowardice. It is easy to abuse the president, because you can get away with that but if you confront your counselor he might fight back. So they abuse the president who is far from them.

1. My son, currently in 400 Level Medicine and Surgery scored 333 in JAMB but his name did not even APPEAR on the Admission List. I was later told by the Institution that, my son could be offered Micro Biology. I told the Registrar of the institution POINT BLANK that, "I have spent HUGELY (Several Millions of Naira) to get my Son to this Point of Entry (PoE) to become a Medical Doctor and not to become a Biology Teacher through her offer of Micro Biology. This Registrar was so MEAN. She simply told me, we are very sorry, Micro Biology is the BEST we can OFFER your son. 2. At this Juncture, I proceeded to JAMB Headquarters, Abuja to meet with Prof. Oloyede who swiftly asked for my son's JAMB details, punched these details into his laptop and everything concerning the university came up on his screen. 3. Prof. Oloyede said and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, please go back home and sleep with your two eyes closed. From what I am seeing on my screen, your son is No.3 on the List of Medicine and Surgery of this institution with a JAMB SCORE of 333 which comes behind two other JAMB scores of 348 & 334 respectively. Unfortunately, none of these chaps, including your Son (i.e JAMB Score 348, 334 and 333) made the Admission List" 4. Prof. Oloyede continued and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, in SANE countries, this Institution should have sent the College Driver with an official vehicle to go and fetch your son from Ekiti to campus having projected himself into the MERIT LIST of this Institution but unfortunately, the endemic corruption in these institutions will just not allow them to follow Due Process" 5. Right in my presence, Prof. Oloyede put a call through to the Vice Chancellor of this Institution, setting his phone on speaker and spoke angrily at the Vice Chancellor, lamenting on the endemic corruption under his nose as it concerns university admission. This Vice Chancellor apologized to Prof. Oloyede saying what has just happened must have been an ERROR of OVERSIGHT on the part of his Management Team & promised Prof. Oloyede that he will personally ensure the Error of Oversight is corrected. 6. Within 24 hrs of that conversation between Prof. Oloyede and the Vice Chancellor, my son checked the university's Admission Portal and discovered his name has been INCLUDED as Number Three on the admission list while the names of the other chaps that scored 348 & 334 also appeared on the admission list as Number One and Number Two respectively. 7. The good news in all of these is that, my son that would have been CRIMINALLY denied admission ab-initio now TOPS his class with a G.P.A of 4.85 This is neither Federal nor State government doing... Every sector of the economy in Nigeria is corrupt. Photo: Prof Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB )

Yes! All that he and you said are very correct. Human capital in Nigeria is something else. They’re becoming a serious threat to further of this country. Even in villages you young boys roaming the street. If you offer them training, they not talk to you again. The use of phone need serious restriction, because the only thing they benefit from it are useless things. Ditto, those in the cities. Tosin Eniolorunda and his co-Founder are Nigerian trained. All of the day one guys at Moniepoint are Nigerians and most of them are still with the company and doing very well. Moniepoint employ, in total, almost 30,000 Nigerians. They are a top employer in NIGERIA 🇳🇬. They pay a minimum of 75% percentile of the market. Junior Developers earn N1M monthly. Most earn N3M and some earn N4M monthly. They have people who earn around N10M monthly! Moniepoint remains one of the highest transacting companies in AFRICA. They are a world-class company. And if Moniepoint did not exist, Nigeria would have gone to CHINA, completely. Tosin must have spoken from a place of deep passion and pain because human capital in Nigeria is low. I have tweeted about this several times as well. Yes, we have good talent, but when you look at the larger population of the country, we have so much work to do. This is a FACT! By the way, Moniepoint has paid some employees a million dollar in stock options (IN CASH). And there are at least 15-20 people who work with Moniepoint in Nigeria who are dollar millionaires! So, to say they underpay or they take advantage of cheap labour is redundant and lazy talk. Again, criticisms should be fair and balanced. But Business Leaders should never shy away from shedding light on challenges across the country. PS: MONIEPOINT HAS PRODUCED A GEN Z A BILLIONAIRE!! JULIAN DUMEBI DURU IS ALIVE AND WELL, AND HAS TOLD HIS STORY. He was a Product Manager, then a Software Architect, before the final promotion to Principal Engineer all at Moniepoint 👏🏽👏🏽.

Supreme Court Decision on ADC Should Not Warrant Celebration, Nothing Has Been Decided - Maduabuchi The ADC had no business at the Supreme Court. There was no appealable decision by the Federal High Court. The Court of Appeal overstepped its bounds by making an order no one sought. In reaching the proper decision that there was no valid appeal by the David Mark faction, the Court of Appeal went a step further and ordered that the _status quo_ be maintained. That was wrong. When INEC, acting on the Court of Appeal’s order, removed David Mark, it was on solid ground. The Appellate Court’s order was to maintain _status quo ante bellum_, not _status quo_. Amid the flood of felicitations following my convocation as Overall Best Graduating Student of LAUTECH, I find it necessary to address the stir around my NELFUND appreciation post. I accept the praise, life changing offers and the backlash, in good faith. Still, it is only fair to set the record straight. I hail from a village in Osun State, raised in a modest family of five. I attended public primary and secondary schools, not by choice, but because even the most inexpensive private schools were beyond our means. Even then, survival itself; food and clothing was a daily struggle. I walked miles to school each morning, while my parents laboured as jacks-of-all-trades to make ends meet. For nine defining years before I entered university, we lived within sight of basic amenities yet beyond our reach, no electricity, no television; just lanterns and candles. Against these odds, I earned a scholarship and now this distinction. In my third year, a coursemate’s father, someone I had once tutored academically, gifted me my first smartphone which I am still using till now. On several occasions, lecturers, moved by quiet compassion, provided me with clothing. There are many other instances, too numerous to recount. So, I say this plainly, not all of us are born with a silver spoon. Some of us climbed the ladder by holding on to every rung of legitimate support we could find. As an engineering student aspiring to make academic history, should I resort myself to blaming my family’s financial situation for my inability to afford fees and essentials like a reliable smartphone or laptop needed for skills and certifications? For me personally, NELFUND was not incidental; it was instrumental and to acknowledge what helped one’s journey is neither propaganda nor misplaced allegiance. It is simply an act of appreciation. Thank you @NELFUND and everyone that contributed to this success! Greatness awaits all of Us.
