I’m so tired of a segment of the fanbase acting like Josh Allen is miles ahead of Goff because he can use his legs more Allen has a higher sack % while pressured 7% *less*, has fumbled in key moments, and took more sacks than Goff this year It’s way closer than people think

Goff functioned with a bottom 5 OL all season. Did Goff perform badly with terrible pass pro sometimes? Yes. So do all QBs

Which is that Goff performed great this season despite having an absolutely terribly OL. He is far from the reason the Lions lost. Look at the OL, the running game and the defense first.

I like Goff, I want him to win here but his limitations can be debilitating at times, especially vs the better teams. Goff and the offense were mostly really bad vs any good defense they played.

He's not going anywhere. Finding franchise QBs in the draft is not easy nor is this a good draft for them. But if the Lions traded Goff for Tua...that move would be the ultimate definition of one step forward and two steps back.

@BrendanKruse @FootballGuy_Al I'm a fan of a lot of QBs, but yes Goff is a great QB. Isn't it exhausting having to perform mental gymnastics to disprove all of his good numbers? Everyone can do what he goes yet nobody actually does.

@LARamsHouse @FootballGuy_Al If they were at the bottom of the league in average depth of target coupled with near the top of YAC, the other normal QB stats wouldn’t tell the whole story. The majority of those low depth passed are check downs of some sort.

@LARamsHouse @FootballGuy_Al Goff is also 14th in air yards per attempt, and 31st in average depth of target (check down merchant). Also benefits the most from yards after catch. His numbers don’t tell the whole story of who he is.

@BrendanKruse @FootballGuy_Al We're in the same box, except I watch every game twice. Every Rams game for the last 20 years and every Lions game since the trade. EPA vs Blitz is the absolute best single stat to evaluate how a QB does against the blitz. This used to be a huge problem for Goff, he got better

@LARamsHouse @FootballGuy_Al EPA vs blitz doesn’t evaluate the QB only and doesn’t tell the whole story of QB skill vs blitz. Stats don’t always tell the whole story. But again my opinion only having watched every Lions game for the past decade and every Rams game since the trade.
