Sometimes I get lost in memories and think back on those “good’ol days”.
Never would I think I’d miss a place like Afghanistan. But it’s the quality of my counterparts I miss more than anything. Even in some of worst situations and shitty environments, I knew they truly had my back and I had theirs…. No drama, no fake words just trust. Teammates said what they meant & did what they said.
Out here? Too much buzz word bullshit: fam, bro, real, community, love, family… with no clue what those words actually mean.
