Press Release: APR and Wrongful Dismissal at NTN Bearing Corporation After more than 15 years of service with bearing manufacturing company NTN, Amjad Ramadan was fired for expressing concern for his people as they endured a genocide. Amjad’s dismissal wasn’t based on his job performance—in previous years, he had been recognized for his service as employee of the year. His dismissal was based on his interactions with colleagues as he sought to raise awareness of the genocide in Gaza, and a malicious doxxing campaign which framed Amjad’s participation in peaceful demonstrations as antisemitic and glorifying terror. The Centre stands by Amjad Ramadan. We will ensure that anti-Palestinian workplace discrimination does not go unchallenged in Canada. Full press release: lcpal.ca/insights-and-u…

Last week, Israel’s Military Advocate General announced that charges were dropped against 5 soldiers caught on video perpetrating one of the most high-profile incidents of torture and sexual abuse of a Palestinian held in Israel’s prisons. The horrific actions of these soldiers left the victim, a man taken from Gaza, hospitalized and in need of surgery. Facing International Court of Justice proceedings, Israel has repeatedly claimed that it has its own mechanisms for ensuring accountability for breaches of international law. While torture, neglect, and abuse of Palestinians are systemic in Israel’s prisons and detention centers, this particular case makes it excruciatingly clear that impunity is embedded in the system and enforced at every turn. The Canadian government’s notion of Israel as a democratic partner with shared values must end. The evidence to the contrary is overwhelming. Now is the time for Canada to join international legal efforts to ensure accountability and justice.

This doesn't just happen. Germany has been a stalwart supporter of Israel, despite clear evidence of its violations of the Genocide Convention in Gaza. The decision not to intervene at the #ICJ is likely bc its best lawyers have told Berlin that doing so can't help a lost case.

This weekend, LCP legal advisor and affiliated lawyer Stephen Ellis joined a coalition of lawyers and activists including @martinezdefence, Arab Canadian Lawyers Association, Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association, and @nccm in defending our community in the face of Ontario Premier Ford’s shameful attempt to block the annual Al-Quds Day March. During the hearings on Saturday the 14th, counsel @martinezdefence brilliantly exposed the Anti-Palestinian racism grounding Ford’s action. The Court did not entertain the government's frivolous arguments for an injunction. Interpreting and applying the law correctly, the court dismissed the injunction, allowing the march to continue. There remains much work ahead to change systems deeply entrenched in Anti-Palestinian racism – but nothing is more powerful than the community and solidarity shown on Saturday. Together, we win.

People across the Occupied Palestinian Territory continue to face lethal force and other attacks that cause casualties, destroy property, and displace families - further deepening humanitarian needs. Palestinians must be protected, and perpetrators held accountable.

This week, the Canadian Parliament voted to reject bill C-233. This bill would have brought Canada a step closer to alignment with its obligations under international law, bringing arms exports destined for Israel via the United States under increased scrutiny. Despite a ceasefire agreement in October 2025, civilians in Gaza are still under daily threat from direct Israeli attacks, with 618 Palestinians killed since the agreement went into force. Many more have suffered life-altering injuries. A complete, loophole-free arms embargo on Canadian weapons to Israel remains a critical need. This vote also comes at a time when the United States is increasingly reckless and unrestrained by international law. Its lawless attacks on Iran have already caused civilian death, including 175 young children in a single incident. This is precisely the time when Canada should be applying stronger scrutiny to weapons exports to the United States.

Canada condemns “attacks against civilians, civilian infrastructure, and UNIFIL personnel” in Lebanon, but won’t actually say who is waging those unacceptable attacks - which likely amount to war crimes. It’s the Israeli Defence Forces.
Foreign Policy CAN@CanadaFP

Canada is deeply alarmed by the dangerous escalations in Lebanon. We condemn attacks against civilians, civilian infrastructure, and UNIFIL personnel, which are unacceptable.

The Prime Minister cemented Canada’s policy vis-à-vis international law in his response to press questions about the US and Israel’s war on Iran, articulating a brazenly lax policy toward internationally illegal actions. As Israel manufactures a new crisis, it has already used the pretext of security to impose further suffering on Palestinians, with sealed borders in Gaza and lockdowns in the West Bank. Prime Minister Carney must change course and publicly reject the normalization of lawless violence. Not doing so puts Palestinians and Canadians alike at risk.

Canada shouldn’t have a "blind spot" for arms exports. I’m calling on all MPs to support my Bill #C233 to close the loophole on military exports. We need consistency & transparency to protect human rights. Debate: March 9 Vote: March 11 Watch & share youtube.com/watch?v=oTSCJ4…

Like all forms of racism, Anti-Palestinian racism deeply effects the health and wellbeing of those subjected to it. Amjad, a Palestinian Canadian who was treated differently by his former employer and eventually fired for expressing concern for his people during a genocide, describes how the discrimination he faced at work effected him.
