@SeddSezz @wendywoo6089 I worked for Whitbread for 10 years from 1990 they were an amazing company to work for and up there with the big guns. What a terrible shame. This government is decimating not only small but large businesses.

🚨Two UK pub chains axed along with 3,500 jobs amid rising taxes Whitbread, which owns both Beefeater and Brewers Fayre, plans to close all 197 of its restaurant sites. CEO Dominic Paul said the decision followed “significant cost increases”, which includes higher employer National Insurance contributions and business rates. Reeves' relentless pursuit of businesses' money is ruining our economy! Rachel Reeves is decimating business and jobs.

@miss_anthrop75 There's really no price limit on what helps with our mental health. I often struggle myself with anxiety, it's the one personality trait I'd love to overcome.

@LClare51 Aw, thank you. It sounded expensive when I first looked at the cost. But it works out to £2.90 per day. Some people spend more than that on a Costa coffee on the way to work every morning.

So, I haven’t felt great about myself recently. My self-confidence is at an all-time low. But yesterday I did a thing. I’ve signed up to a 16-week lifestyle transformation programme. Time to get back on my A game 💪🏼

@JoannaBlythman @ShirleyNorrie Absolutely bonkers. Why can't we just eat and buy what's in season at supermarkets and use our own wonderful British farmers. I rarely eat food out of season as it doesn't taste the same. We definitely don't utilise our British farms half enough.

Classic example of how supermarkets’ ‘Permanent Global Summertime’ sourcing is so focused on out-of-season novelties that they can’t be bothered getting involved with seasonal, UK-produce. Basically, UK supermarkets make LOUSY greengrocers.

Today Left - £21.00kg Co-op asparagus picked by a Peruvian hand and flown in from the Southern Hemisphere. I left it in there. Right - £9.20kg Hildred’s pick your own down the road, picked using my own hands, fresh and eaten in under an hour from the field @coopuk

@Nick_Baker777 @KarenJukes2 @JamesHarvey2503 Absolutely nothing makes sense at the moment. Most other countries put their people first in healthcare, jobs etc but not the UK oh no. We as citizens of the UK are way down their priority list.

My friend's daughter was in her third year of Uni and set to become a very good nurse. She only had 4 months before graduating. Whilst on a shift in hospital, she was told by a senior nurse that out of all the nurses set to graduate, they would all be competing for just a handful of places, meaning many of them would NOT be employed for the job they had spent 3 years training for. She cut her losses, quit Uni a few weeks later after having that information confirmed, and got a job working for a big insurance company. Another girl, very close to our family, also spent 3 years in Uni, from 2022 - 2025 studying to become a radiographer. After their final exams, all of those studying the same course (around 34 students) were told that only 8 of them would be successful in gaining employment as a radiographer with the NHS. They even advised them to consider emigrating to Australia through a programme, and that they would get financial help for the first year if they accepted. Fortunately for her, she was successful in getting a job in Cardiff. But having been there for over 7 months, she is struggling to understand why so many graduates are not being offered jobs with the NHS, when they are recruiting nurses from other countries... Like, are there vacancies, or not? And why are many nursing graduates being overlooked or being told there are no jobs, when there are jobs which are being given to foreign nurses? It makes no sense at all...

I have just sent FOIs to the NHS to prove that migrants are more LIKELY to get a job in British healthcare than newly-qualified ethnically-British nurses, that I know for a FACT are struggling to get work. I will keep you all updated.

The algorithm on here has separated so many of us who have supported each other for the past 6 years. We may never meet in person but the impact some have on here is huge. We’ve all played our part and have touched lives in ways we will never know. How beautiful is that 💚

@JackieMeek6 It's terrible. My granddaughter used to eat almost anything and lots of fruit and veg, but since starting school and having school dinners she will now only eat highly processed, very limited foods. It's shocking what they're doing to the kids.

This disease robs you of essence of life itself. Energy is the currency that buys the things that make life worth living - building, caring, loving. These things require the investment of energy, and it's the investment that makes these things durably fulfilling in the way that consumption never was and never will be. Without energy, I cannot build. I wouldn't say I ever truly loved working in corporate America, but I did get great satisfaction from working with others and solving big problems. I also built other things that I did truly love - a jam band in NYC called Medium Squares, fitness in the gym, my garden apartment in Boerum Hill. Without energy, I cannot care. This time last year I was huddled in sports bars with friends and strangers alike cheering on as we watched the Knicks go to the first Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years. Last night, I watched the Knicks tie up the series with Atlanta 2-2 curled up on the couch at my parents' home, focusing more on my pain and air hunger than anything that was going on in the game. Without energy, I cannot love. This one is hard to say out loud, but I find myself incapable of feeling much of anything for anyone in my life, even my closest friends and family, while in this diseased state. My mom turned 65, friends are getting married and having babies, grandparents have passed away - I do my very best to engage with these moments as my healthy self would, but it's mostly an act. Where there should be love and depth of emotion, I feel only sickness and exhaustion. I privately count down the hours and minutes until these moments end and I can return to what has become my natural state of being, laid up on the couch in perpetual illness. It is no wonder to me the disconnect that persists even today between patients and doctors, friends & family, and everyone else. This illness defies everything I thought I knew about disease and medicine. It seems to contradict nature itself that a health outcome could be so tragically bad without killing you.

I find it really weird when people get do passionately defensive about ME and long Covid being “not real”. ( see guy who called me a “cretin”) What’s in it for them ? Why are they so aggressive/abusive ? I hate the thought that these are possibly HCPs - maybe Drs . Argh.

@jemmm85517813 @FawkesHandles CDC data shows HUNDREDS of deaths among infants and toddlers within days of MMR vaccination. They died from SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME, CARDIAC ARREST, AND ENCEPHALITIS. Our study found MMR and MMRV vaccines are linked to 2,657% MORE DEATHS than measles itself since 1995.

@DerylLynn It's really hard to contemplate that this is happening but unfortunately it seems it is. There is an end game that I think even our government have no control over and this is what frightens me the most.
