Birds do it. Bees do it. But sometimes fish need help with reproduction! Last week, students in LDWF’s Native Fish in the Classroom program visited Booker Fowler Hatchery for the annual Paddlefish spawn. Eggs were harvested, fertilized & taken back to classrooms to grow. 🐣➡️🐟🎓

While surveying our coastal property last week, biologists spotted two American Flamingos attempting (and failing 😅) to blend in. This marks the third consecutive year they’ve been seen in the same area, suggesting that find the locality and its habitat suitable.🦩❤️

🔥 LDWF plans a prescribed burn Tuesday (March 17) at Little River WMA in Grant Parish. No burn ban is in place, and staff will monitor weather closely to ensure safe conditions.These burns help maintain habitat for deer, turkeys, and songbirds while reducing wildfire risk.
