sad seeing so many democrats throw out both their principles and basic policy beliefs to cow-tow to the DSA people because they are so sick of losing and will attach themselves to whatever they think has a chance to win It’s the same thing republicans did with MAGA Disgusting

@JBSDC i honestly think giving @ChrisMurphyCT the benefit of the doubt of being naive instead of boneheaded here is wrong we need to start holding these people accountable to both poor regulatory and political decisions

@LDrogen Some actually think crypto can still go away if this doesn’t pass. They haven’t actually engaged with the substance yet.

It's so short sighted for Dems to try and kill this bill because they want Trump's scalp for his crypto criming Don't get me wrong, he's done a ton of criming But who does it actually help to kill this bill because of one man Just move on, you're not winning this fight
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT

The CLARITY Act is the bill supported by the crypto industry to increase their reach into our banking system and broader economy. There are many problems with the bill, but most egregious is that is essentially legalizes Donald Trump's crypto corruption scheme. Let me explain.

CLARITY does the opposite of what anti-tech Dems claim. Under their direction, the SEC refused to create rules and that led to the worst frauds and scams in the industry's history. Now, they're trying to stop CLARITY—leaving consumers exposed for their own political gain.

@gabgtorres @Noahpinion again, there's no anecdotal debate necessary here, you can just simply look at the relative rent and property value numbers

@LDrogen @Noahpinion No, there’s demand for dense cities. This is a large nation! All kinds of people. But I’ve lived in both places and it’s a mistake to think that suburbanites deep down want to live in dense cities.

@gabgtorres @Noahpinion I guess people are voluntarily choosing to pay enormous sums of money for the scarce resource of living in these places because they just like giving money to landlords?

@Noahpinion How do we know this? Because as it stands the demand for living in those environments is so extreme that people are willing to pay insane rents! You can make shit up or just look at what the market is telling you

@Noahpinion You’re using in-a-vacuum numbers to try and make a relativistic argument Given an equal affordability playing field would those people rather live in walkable urban environments, yes

This is an unnecessarily galaxy brained take There are plenty of things to like about suburbs, neither of these two things are true, especially for unmarried white collar workers This is just more cope for our moronically self imposed scarcity of slots in good cities
Noah Smith 🐇🇺🇸🇺🇦🇹🇼@Noahpinion

America's suburbs get a lot of hate. But a lot of the critiques are just myths -- suburbs feature shorter, easier commutes, and equal or less loneliness compared to cities. noahpinion.blog/p/the-american…

@JBSDC @0xYager Yea I tried to create a fully automated burner that read my feed and produced “takes”, it went ok but not great Much easier to give it the general take and have it write in your voice

You can create a synthetic index, or even a real index, but the liquidity of that index doesn't flow down into the liquidity of the individual assets So even if you tokenize and chop up the ownership of a home, without the liquidity there's not a ton of demand to trade

Tokenizing real estate is at the same time extremely easy and extremely hard Easy part is we're literally just tokenizing a discrete asset that is already heavily papered/regulated The casino being the boot program for liquidity is hard though because assets are all irregular
