I think it’s unfortunately a harsh truth that Mario will always be catered towards kids throughout all their content nowadays, whether we like it or not. 😭
they know the movies hit a billion every time without fail, even if they’re mediocre, so why would they bother improving?

I've found myself getting less cynical over media as I've aged. Understanding how difficult it is to make anything of quality just makes grateful that something I liked existed at all. Good, bad, or flawed, what a blessing it is to experience other folks work before its all gone

are people aware why most RPGs don’t get movie adaptations? it’s because those stories aren’t built for a movie structure, it’s meant to be stories that are explored through hours of gameplay. Compiling all of that into a hour and a half film would be a fucking disaster in pacing

In a way, the Comet Observatory barrage scene was kind of in the movie which was awesome... However it would've been ten times cooler if it was Rosalina leading the heroes into battle instead of Fox McCloud but whatever 💔

It’s funny that the Lego Movie is fast paced and full of references but I only ever hear praise about it, meanwhile the Mario Movies are both of those things and people treat them like hellspawn
I’m not saying you have to like both films but some of ya’ll are way too dramatic

Lo peor es que ni siquiera es un problema de duración. La película dura 98 minutos. Muchas películas animadas más cortas que esta son buenísimas y amadas a nivel general.
El problema es que Mario Galaxy desperdicia todo su tiempo y es incapaz de construir un sólo gran momento.

I say this as someone who doesn’t fully agree with their methods of making this film… Some people do just want a fun action film they can watch with their kid. If this movie provides this for them, then go ahead. I’ll still be in my lane asking these films to improve.

I need some of my mario oomfs to know that the pacing isn’t the problem for the mario movies atp, it’s the fact that Nintendo just want people to feel bad for ever thinking these movies will go beyond mediocre writing and it’s fucking tiring to just suck up and accept it. 😭
