Investing in LEGO turned out to be more profitable than gold and crypto
Economists found that LEGO sets have delivered an average return of about 11% per year over the past 30 years — outperforming gold, many stocks, and some cryptocurrencies.
Most sets are sold for only a couple of years before disappearing from stores. After that, collectors are willing to pay huge sums for them.
For example, the Cafe Corner set cost $140 in 2007 and now sells for over $3,000.
The fastest-growing in value are Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Batman series — some sets have increased in price by more than 400%.
