@uconnhockeyctl To mix in the caliber of talent that plays for both colleges, it's a really special event that's hard to match. I think recently it's been bad tbf but I find it hard for any rivalry to match what we had in 2023-24 even if the games themselves sucked

@uconnhockeyctl I think part of what makes BC/BU better is that they DO play in a high stakes in season tournament every year haha I'm not trying to knock UMass/UConn, I think it's an extremely underrated rivalry but what makes BU/BC so good is the amount of hate there is between the two schools

Since 2019 UConn and UMass have played against each other 18 times. 11 games were decided by a 1 goal and in 5 of those games it was decided by an OT/SO. BU has played BC 23 times since 2019 and only 6 games were decided by one goal and in 3 of those games were decided by a OT/SO

This is a stupid argument but since we're doing it. Since November 2018 NU has played BU 24 times. 12 have gone into OT. 16 were 1 goal games. NU is 11-10-3 in those games which include 6 games with 17k+ attendance and the final game of the then oldest hockey arena in the world.

@CommAveCrows Obviously historically it’s doesn’t compare but in the last 10 years or so it’s been comparable if it not better in my opinion. Granted I’m biased. At least UMass people are starting to realize UConn is better rivalry for them than UML.

Someone has to say it so I will UConn v UMass has probably the best rivalry in Hockey East in the last 7 to 8 years. Yes even better than BC vs BU
