Special Olympics International is delighted to announce Sven Albrecht as the new Regional President and Managing Director of its @soeuropeeurasia region, effective 1 April 2026. Sven has dedicated more than 20 years to our movement. Starting as an intern in 2003, he has served as National Director of @SO_Deutschland since 2010, during which time he led the bid, preparation, and delivery of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. “Sven’s experience shaping Special Olympics Germany into the powerhouse it is today, coupled with his leadership over the celebration of a remarkable 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, makes Sven a tremendous asset for our Europe Eurasia Region and the wider movement,” said David Evangelista, President and CEO of Special Olympics. #SpecialOlympics #ChooseToInclude
