[🟢] NEW: Interest from Liverpool in Bradley Barcola is genuine, although the decision makers are aware that he is most comfortable on the left wing. That is also the position where they want to create opportunities for Rio Ngumoha. Their thinking is not finalised yet, but at this stage Liverpool are more likely to look for a specialist right sided attacker. [Hugo Delom, @lequipe] Comment: Wouldn’t fully take this as definitive yet. Liverpool haven’t made a final decision on their attacking plans and could still sign two wingers, or one winger plus a versatile attacker.

🚨🇮🇷🇦🇪 The UAE just shattered expectations by quietly deploying world-class military tech, including Chinese-made drones, directly over Iranian territory. Ex-CIA Charles Finfrock isn't surprised at all, noting that the Emirates spent years building a powerhouse military to defend the nation. Charles argued that this under-the-radar retaliation shows that regional players are no longer waiting on Washington to protect their borders. "We want a Gulf secured by and led by peaceful moderate leaders in the Gulf, and that's the UAE." @FinfrockCharles

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 The talk of a massive U.S. ground invasion in Iran is completely off base when Washington still holds all the cards from the air. Ex-CIA Charles Finfrock explains why a costly troop deployment isn't necessary when the U.S. can simply maintain its choking naval blockade. Finfrock said that while Tehran mistakenly thinks it's negotiating from a position of strength, Trump’s upcoming summit in Beijing will likely expose just how dependent China is on a stable Middle East. @FinfrockCharles

Yan Diomande on this summer and Leipzig: “The World Cup is next and after that you never know what can happen. “I will never forget this. It’s not just about playing football. Most people can only see what happens on the pitch, but the club has helped me so much with my family and my mum. “Young kids like me, I have a lot of things that happen, but nobody knows other than the club. They did a lot for me so I’m grateful and all I can do is help them on the pitch. “It’s a big motivation to pay back what they put in me - €20m is a big risk, but it’s not over, we have to keep working hard.”

Yan Diomande says the growing speculation over his future is “motivating” but insists he’s not in a hurry to leave RB Leipzig. [@greggevans40] nytimes.com/athletic/72759…

🇦🇪🇮🇷 THE UAE WAS FIGHTING A SECRET WAR INSIDE IRAN While Trump was announcing the ceasefire on April 8th, UAE Mirage jets were hitting Iran's Lavan Island oil refinery. The facility caught fire. Stayed offline for months. Iran responded with missiles and drones. The UAE intercepted them, said nothing about what it had done to provoke the response, and pointed silently to its right of self-defense. Before that: Iran hit the UAE's Borouge petrochemical complex. Iran hit Dubai International Airport. A Shahed drone struck the Fairmont on Palm Jumeirah. An Iranian drone hit the US consulate in Dubai. Iran fired 174 ballistic missiles, 689 drones, and 8 cruise missiles at UAE soil between March 1 and the ceasefire. The UAE absorbed all of it publicly... and struck back in secret.

🇦🇪🇮🇷 BREAKING The UAE was secretly striking Iran during the war. And Iran struck back. The UAE covertly launched an April attack on an oil refinery on Lavan Island that caused a major fire and months-long disruption. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on the UAE and Kuwait. The UAE never confirmed the strikes but defended its right to respond to hostile acts. This marks a fundamental shift in the UAE's posture toward Iran, a country Abu Dhabi had spent years quietly normalizing ties with. So to be clear: while the U.S. and Israel were the official combatants, the UAE was running its own covert air campaign next door. And Iran was hitting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait with hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles in response. This war had more participants than anyone has announced yet... Who else do you think was quietly involved? Source: WSJ

🥇| @PeteHall86: Sources close to Xabi Alonso say that he is stalling on making a decision on his future in case his preferred destination, which would be to replace Arne Slot at Liverpool, becomes available. He would have "taken the Chelsea job by now if Liverpool was not still in his thinking”.

Ryan Gravenberch on the boos from fans: “To be honest we need them behind us. We don’t win but I think we don’t really deserve this you know. Fans have to be behind us for 90 mins. When they were behind us in the second half we pressed so we needed. Hopefully the next few games they won’t do this anymore.”
