[🟢] @David_Ornstein on NBC yesterday:
“The intention of the club and Fenway Sports Group is to stick with Arne Slot into next season and give him longer. He’s on a contract until 2027. I think they feel there are clear mitigations… the transition work was always going to be huge after Jurgen Klopp’s departure... the transfer windows across the course of all of Slot’s windows is four now. The net spend is about £150m, even though last summer was really high and I think they plan to continue investing because they see this as a developing project and squad.”
🚨 Arne Slot:
“We’ve shown multiple times that we have played the way we want to play, the way our fans want us to play, and the way Liverpool should play. But that has not by far been consistent enough. Of course, as we are sitting here now just after two games where we haven’t showed what a Liverpool team should be able to show. We should be dominant. We should press the other team all over the pitch. Thats the beauty of football, you never know when things click… I think this team has shown what the ability is many times, but there’s a difference between showing ability and being consistent. Thats the next step.”
[🟢] NEW: Both Richard Hughes and Edwards have fixed-term deals that end at the same time. Both planned to stay for the contracted three years and no longer.

[🟢] NEW: Arne Slot has a contract until the end of next season, and the club are of a view to persevere into the last season of that deal before making any decision on a renewal or otherwise.
