@BreakerCulture @natsturner 4 other cards in the order they damaged while in their possession, which they’ve also ignored when I implored them to look a second time. None of these issues were on the cards on initial order scans. @natsturner thoughts? I have spent tens of thousands at PSA deserve answers

@BreakerCulture Ty has this ever happened to you? PSA gets coffee spots on my card, gives it an 8, I submit a request for them to look at damage, they ignored, sent them the pics a 2nd time, and now they’re cleaning it without permission? @natsturner can my order get randomly reviewed too?

So we are on the same page... - WHY was this specific order reviewed? (Because of his social media post?) - You flipped 11 grades... so you will review ENTIRE orders? - How often do you "review" orders for grades and how should a normal customer request this?
Nat Turner@natsturner

orders or certain cards from certain orders are occasionally reviewed for quality purposes, with adjustments made if it was determined an error was made in the grading process or otherwise. this order was still at PSA and hadn't been shipped yet, making it eligible to be reviewed. for example, occasionally @PSAcard unfortunately misses a counterfeit card and it gets through the process, and we're alerted to it and we'll review it and deactivate the cert even though we already graded it. or a card had its grade swapped with another card in the same order and the labels need to be fixed. or in this case, a few cards in an order received lower grades than the cards warranted initially, and were adjusted after being re-reviewed. mistakes can happen although they're rare on a % basis. the issue was the system was unaware the person/submitter had also accepted offers (grading and our Offers Network platform are two different systems), so those accepted offers will simply be reversed and refunded.

@BreakerCulture @HobbyChamps Their policy isn’t hidden, the way they enforce it is. They pick & choose who & how much w/ no consistency. Saying to go somewhere else is obtuse. I’m not leaving money on the table bc they suck at one thing. They’re allowed to be mkt leaders & have business faults! address it

Calling PSA’s upcharges “predatory” doesn’t hold up logically. Predatory means something hidden, deceptive, or designed to take advantage of someone who doesn’t know better. PSA’s upcharge policy is the opposite of that — it’s fully disclosed before you submit. You see it in their terms, in the submission tiers, and on the order form. You agree to it before they ever touch your cards. Transparency and predation can’t exist in the same policy. If a customer doesn’t like that structure, they have complete freedom to use SGC, CGC, Tag, Beckett, or anyone else. Disagreeing with a business model is fair. But labeling it “predatory” — when it’s disclosed, optional, and competitive — is just emotional, not factual.

There’s a lot of noise about PSA upcharges lately. Here’s my take — I don’t love them… but I also don’t get upset about them. PSA isn’t hiding these fees. It’s right there when you submit. You know the risk. You know what could happen. It’s not “predatory” or “sneaky” — it’s transparent. And if that bothers you, don’t use PSA. That’s the beauty of this hobby… you’ve got choices.

@itsgeoffwilson It will catch up with them. They are predatory and a conflict of interest. The only difference between grading levels is the TIME it takes to get them back. If I am willing to wait, why should I still pay more?

If you REALLY hate PSA’s upcharges that much, then why don’t you grade with another company? The comments yesterday were 99% HATE on PSA’s upcharges (and me). So why then do PSA’s grading numbers keep rising, while BGS, SGC and CGC languish far far behind? Money talks. And right now, despite the noise in the comments, the money is all going to PSA. 🤷

@itsgeoffwilson PSA's numbers are growing IN SPITE OF upcharges, not because of them. Their market position has nothing to do with whether they should maintain ethical, non-predatory, non-conflict-of-interest business practices in all forms.

@vanexel31 @PJBURT2 There’s more pressure put elsewhere if you do lock your ankles up too tight with a brace or tape and land in a way that should sprain your ankle, that twist can reverb up to your knee and cause bigger problems.

This “unwritten rule” of kicking ball out when a player is injured is bs and antiquated. The indignation/righteousness is laughable. Players created the cynicism faking/embellishing. Kick it out if you want, but don’t cry when someone plays to the whistle.

@joeeluff @DrJesseMorse There’s a few reasons. Rehab is longer because the cartilage is more delicate. You don’t bear weight for 6-10 weeks unlike ACL. Procedures are less refined than typical ligament surgeries, best practices are still being learned. Severity is everything. -prior OATS patient
