There's a pecking order of misinformation in India. The more indefensible the misinformation, the lower ranked the accounts spreading it. These "first line of liars" say something often & loudly enough to create a baseline narrative for higher level influencers to step in.

Indian Parliament is functioning like gully cricket at the moment. The popular guy is setting the rules. Whenever his team hits the ball out of the compound, its a six. But when the other team does the same, its an out. When the popular guy's team runs beyond the crease and bowls, the umpire ignores it.
