I was listening to Mr Coker on Morayo's show and he said something that stuck with me.
He said that in the early 90's after the collapse of the apartheid rule in South Africa, the country became open for business.
A lot of black South Africans didn't see the opportunities, they were busy being angry at the country.
Foreigners came in and invested, 30 years down the line, the foreigners have grown to own everything and black South Africans are left with regrets hence the Xenophobic attacks.
May that not be the story of many Nigerians in 30 years.

Now look at us. There’s no Chinese phone you can’t get parts for — either in Computer Village, Alaba, or direct from China in 7 days. And honestly, they’re easier and cheaper to fix than most iPhones or Samsung.

Like every domestic animals, horses are of different breeds. There are chickens worth ₦4M per one. Viatina-19, a cow, is worth more than ₦1 billion. It's like talking about cars. There are cars for ₦4M and there are cars for ₦400 million.
Coming back to horses, only someone who is looking to own exotic breeds will import. People have been breeding horses in the northern part of the country for more than 100 years. In fact, there's a breed known as Arewa horse. We also have Bornu and Sulebawa. These breeds cost between ₦900k to ₦5M for juveniles.
As for the management, it depends on the owner. If you have a large expanse of land and you plant what they eat, you can spend as little as 50k per horse, in Nigeria.

Horses are expensive. My friend bought his own for N30m - he bought 2 for 15m each. It costs him about N500k monthly to maintain each. This is excluding cost of medical. Sudanese horses are like N15m to N20m. Argentine horses are very expensive, ranging from about $45k to $100k. I know about 5 billionaires with Argentine horses. These ones have experts flown in to look after the horse. It costs a lot to maintain. It also costs about $10k to fly a horse to Nigeria. Like I said earlier, the cost is significant in feeding, shoeing, stabling, health care.
