I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this but seeing Godzilla go feral against Kong in theaters had me stunned cause of how different he acted here from before. Had me getting nervous for Kong.

@silly_pink_bug @Mr_goji54 It took an entire barrage of missiles from MechaGodzilla II to knock Rodan out of the sky in the Heisei film, and even then Rodan survived to give Godzilla an upgrade. Rodan barely has a presence in Final Wars, along with any monster that isn’t Godzilla or Gigan.

@LIOSketch @Mr_goji54 How is that pathetic? Godzilla is shown multiple times through the movie to us the other monsters abilities against them. He sees Rodan as a threat he can’t hit and lines up Anguirus to knock them both out of the fight - two birds, one ball.

Rodan was considered as Godzilla’s equal in the showa era, but all that has changed since then. I hate how nowadays Rodan is viewed as submissive, a sidekick, or a punching bag and it shouldn’t be like that. Rodan is worthy of a better representation and I feel like these past few years there’s been a lack of that. I need Toho & Legendary to better handle Rodan in any future projects he’s featured in and give him the respect that he deserves. I want him to be viewed as an all powerful being again, a God, to be seen as Godzilla’s equal in strength and status. Give Rodan his power back.

@Mr_goji54 Blame Dougherty all you want but they did it in GvMG2 and a LOT of the comics outside the original IDW trilogy either depict him in a similar vein or outright ignore him. FW came the closest to bringing him back that original characterization imo.

@LIOSketch @DanielRPK In the novel the animal bit her arm and it started to swell like crazy, it even got to the neck, to the point she could barely breath.
My guess is that they probably knocked her down and started attacking her head too.

@paleeeeoo @DanielRPK It was probably a nod to what happened in the book (this scene was from the first JP novel)? Only in the novel it’s just one compy and it runs up her arm to attack her face after she holds it out to the animal. Meanwhile it looked like compys in TLW attacked her legs?

@DanielRPK In a deleted scene that can be found on the DVD/Blu-Ray releases, you can just barely see a photo of her with bandages on her head, Ludlow says the girl will be fine.
Not sure how a bunch of compys did all that damage tho.

Here’s the big problem that all the Illumination defenders aren’t getting. Their movies tread the bottom line of acceptable, distracting you with bells and whistles from how painfully generic they really are.

@starshot_ Not to say the US couldn’t make a good Kirby movie, but you would need people who grew up in that fantasy era of the 80s to understand the heart of Kirby. There needs to be a sense of wonder and imagination to balance the surprise darkness that tries to disrupt the balance.
