@LJRohln @TheGamerAuthor @erintiffanygrey Yeah. She is. She just took a bus that didn't lead home and it took five bus drivers to get her where she was going. It scared her a lot, but we physically went back and showed her where to go, which side of the road to be on, etc.

@LJRohln @TheGamerAuthor @erintiffanygrey Daily? No. We've had several conversations about how being in the big city is a lot different than rural Missouri. We had quite a scare when my daughter didn't arrive home on time her first day of school. I think that made them think about it more.

@LJRohln @erintiffanygrey @JamesNealWrites Unchecked, yes. I would allow my kids to play-act, but we had daily convos about the difference between real life and play. Neither of my children have been in serious trouble.

@erintiffanygrey @LJRohln @JamesNealWrites But the mentality that needs to change is that we only succeed if we're better than someone else. We need to stop teaching that kindness is a weakness. Because it's precisely this sort of conditioning that leads to violence later. My two cents.

@erintiffanygrey @LJRohln @JamesNealWrites It's hard to even find fault with the parents in this case because they at least appear to be trying. I'm leery; where these kids are learning the language? It scares me that we're raising kids who believe that cops are supposed to kill black people 2/

@erintiffanygrey @JamesNealWrites Hey @TheGamerAuthor I’d like your input. Ms. Erin, I admit, I’m no sociologist, nothing like that. It just seems like a jump from play to real violence. I could be wrong. So like, this is not me trying to fight. I’m trying to understand. That’s all.

@LJRohln @JamesNealWrites It absolutely does lead to violence. Kids who practice violent behavior are likely to be violent adults. When you repeat a behavior, it becomes your natural response.

@TheGamerAuthor It’s terrible what we’ll do to ourselves. I hope you have a constructive, supportive band behind you now. Mine helps me see where I’m weakest without making me feel like a failure.

@LJRohln I used to be horribly self-destructive too and my addiction was violence. I claimed being the good guy by only going after rapists and child beaters. But you're right, this is far better than...other stuff.

Lately, "I'm gonna sit down to write" has turned into "I'ma jump on Lords Mobile and Star Wars Commander and do everything except write". What's your procrastination of choice? #WritingCommunity
