It was a bit unexpected to be randomly interviewed by @hayleyjanemoore before Racing today to give my thoughts on The Coral Trophy. Forward Plan was the one I was keen on today and I made a strong case for him. It seemed that I also impressed Hayley in the process too 😅

I’m very excited to be moving to 🇦🇺 over the next couple of months, where I will be a part of the 7Racing broadcast team. Lots of hard work over the years has gone into this & I can’t wait to get going. 🦘 🦘 🇦🇺

@JordyLake 100%. I just worry that this modern day National might happen too quickly for L’Homme Presse. He’s arguably the type you’d have wanted 10-15 years ago, when it was a proper test. If it were to come up soft, he’d definitely be a player in my opinion. But, that’s probably unlikely

@LJVRacingMedia @NathanWhiteh78 Both proper flag-bearers for their respected yards but what a horse Anibale Fly once was, and a solid jumper who on his day got into a lovely rhythm.

Grand National (NRNB) 100/1 EW L’Homme Presse looks a really interesting one at massive price for the Grand National, especially with NRNB taking the risk out of it. He’s a proper Grade 1 horse on his day, so brings a bit of class that a lot of these don’t. He’s also a solid jumper, usually neat and gets into a good rhythm, which is exactly what you want round Aintree. Bar that late unseat in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, his record over fences is pretty clean. Trip’s the big question, but the way he travels gives you a bit of hope he might get it all and I think he's lost the speed for 3m chases so has needed to go up in trip for a while now. He’s still after all these years the yard’s main man, and could easily be the one to save what’s been a quiet enough season if he lines up. 100/1 NRNB, worth a very small EW.

@NathanWhiteh78 @JordyLake To be fair, Anibale Fly finished third & second in two consecutive Gold Cups (2018, 2019) before going on to Aintree & finishing fourth & fifth in the 2018 & 2019 Grand Nationals. It worked for Tony Martin. It’s an intriguing angle in for L’Homme Presse. Who knows

We are disappointed to share the news that our final three racedays of the 2025-26 season have been cancelled to allow for an upgrade of the drainage systems on the home straight. More information here: thejockeyclub.co.uk/cheltenham/med…

@FinPowrie “Woke”. Give over, Fin. If he’s good enough, then great, if not, does that take away from what he’s already achieved?. We’ll find out. Also, when did I say nobody should comment?. Absolute plank

@LJVRacingMedia So Luca, you say "enjoy it, but don't comment !" - I suppose it matters given the connection have said they'll target G races - I thought Racing was vibrant because 'we all have an opinion. - Your way becomes mundate, woke and rote.

All this talk of “Constitution Hill won’t win a Group 1”, won’t win this class, that class etc. Why does that matter?. Considering where this horse was before Christmas, I’m just delighted to see a horse winning well, enjoying his racing again. What will be will be. Enjoy it

@BrandyandLovage I don’t get massively involved in Racing as much as I used to, but I like to give my opinion every so often on specific talking points. It seems plenty of people agree

@LJVRacingMedia Its mickey mouse racing the all weather for poor grade horses . It shows how poor the opposition was at 1/7 odds.its like messi playing in the Vauxhall conference and idiots saying how good is he. Reality check

@MrAndrewMoss Thats what a lot of people are conveniently missing. He’s a 9yo. I doubt Nicky Henderson has any expectations. It’s a fact finding mission that could open up some valuable opportunities & have a little bit of fun along the way. Who cares if he’s a Group 1 horse or not

A PERFECT 2⃣ from 2⃣ 💫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥, described by one enthusiastic punter beforehand as 'the Ronaldo of Racing', justifies cramped odds with the minimum of fuss under Ryan Moore. @sevenbarrows | @kemptonparkrace | @VirginBet

We have very sadly lost the battle to overcome Sir Gino’s ailment and he has had to be put to sleep at the veterinary hospital this morning. He has been fighting from severe deep-seated infections that he had overcome last year prior to his brilliant return in the Christmas Hurdle but this time it had spread too far although his fractured pelvis was healing well. He was not only brilliant but one of the nicest kindest horses you could ever wish to see and this leaves an awful hole in Seven Barrows this morning and a very sad day for Joe & Marie Donnelly. They have had some wonderful horses over the years and they both care so much for them so losing such a young star with his life in front of him is particularly cruel. Sir Gino was unbeaten in all his 7 starts including 3 Grade 1’s over hurdles and an amazing display in a Grade 2 Chase on his one and only start over fences. We would have to say that he was just at least as good as any of all the amazing horses we have been lucky enough to have trained. Unforgettable in every way.
