Last year I released an HTML+CSS demo to prove that you can make browser demos without javascript. Feels like a fever dream now, but I'm considering doing a writeup and releasing the toolchain so people can experience their own "why am I doing this to myself" moment, any takers?

@FableFox @LittleBrainz @revision_party Assembly to open a window with a minimal OpenGL setup, everything else GLSL on the gpu -> single fragment shader generating the sound and the visuals. Finally tie it all together with a compressing linker (crinkler.net).🗜️ Uncompressed shader is around 10k (350 loc).

I've seen folks extruding 2D SDFs to make them 3D, but the extrusion usually seems to be axis-aligned. Does anyone here know how to efficiently generalize an "opExtrusion" to work along an arbitrary 3D direction? #sdf #graphics

so that means the other 7 bits (-xxxxxxx) make up the value we're adding or subtracting from the program counter. but... #$F9 = %11111001 = #249, and without the most significant bit, that comes down to %1111001 = $79 = #$121 ?

i'm running into a wall with this for DAYS now. a BEQ #$F9 at $C7AD should branch back 5 bytes to $C7A8 since BEQ expects a signed byte, the most significant bit (which is, when written, the leftmost one in an 8-bit value, i.e. x-----), as far as I understand.
