Pub 192. The Castle Hotel. Ruthin. A jumbled collection of several buildings that us still a Hotel! Fantastic frontage on to the main town square. Internally it drops down several levels of varied seating to reach the garden terrace. Lovely. Mrs LKoSpoons wants to come and stay!

The Australia, Purple Moose's brewery tap in the main road through Porthmadog. Cracking pub that does great food. Glaslyn for me, Elderflower for Mrs LKoSpoons.

Decent amount of trade on a sunny but blowy day. Pint of Shipyard for me, Pepsi for Mrs LKoSpoons.

Pub 191. Pen Cob. Pwllheli. Opposite the station and pretty close to the centre of town this former shop has been very tastefully decorated with lots of painted wood panels and a good variety of seating styles. Quite big without feeling it.

@jfw1990s It was on every table in the Tafarn Y Porth! Could just be something they're trialling locally.

@LKoSpoons Usually Purple Moose there tap house down road Australia bar you should be back spoon ticking they plan to open one there i believe.

Not a Spoons but Spooners! The Ffestiniog Railway has a pub as part of its station at Porthmadog, named after the engineering that built the line. Good food and beer, always six cask beers on.

Disappointingly, Tenby Son of a Beach is the only Welsh beer available at the moment.

Pub 190. Tafarn Y Porth. Caernarfon. Just a couple of minutes from the famous castle down a not particularly salubrious side street its a typical mid-sized, single-level modern Spoons with a nice little garden. Not particularly busy on a late Tuesday lunchtime.

When in Porthmadog, drink Purple Moose!

@StymieSi Werrington does well for decent pubs, even the worst one is ok. Wales is nice thanks! Much chilling and a few ticks planned.

@LKoSpoons Ahhh isn't that just typical?! Werrington seems to have a never ending supply of good new GBG pubs. Hope Wales was exciting!

Pub 3397, Butchers Arms, Werrington. Sober again sort of after long walk. Plush micro I enjoy. Everyone hates Spurs and suddenly becomes Brighton fans weirdly. Wanted pint of lemonade with beer but beer is lemonade anyway. Win win!
